Overview

About the property

This original 18th century stone farmhouse has been carefully renovated to have modern amenities without taking away its rural charm.

The ground floor has a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and crockpot.

Adjacent to the back door is a shower and w.c with utility area containing all the usual domestic equipment such as ironing board and iron, vacuum, barbecue equipment, garden toys and seating covers.

The main room on the ground floor is a large dining room with log burning fire, a table which can hold a banquet for 12 and a cartwheel suspended light.

The second floor has a double and a twin bedded room along with the bathroom, shower and toilet. It's highlight is a minstrel gallery overlooking the dining room.

The roof has the second double bedroom with twin children's beds and a cot and the second twin bedded room. There is also a lounge with toilet and vanity unit. The windows in the lounge overlook the valley which runs down to the River Vire.

The grounds are bounded by hedges with plenty of room for parking , playing, barbequeing, alfresco dining and generally relaxing. The hamlet itself is quiet with little traffic. There are plenty of walks starting at the Farmhouse and many adventures and sightseeing to be had in the immediate area.

There are local villages and a market town with all the facilities you will need.

The coast with safe bathing, landing beaches and fishing villages is within easy reach.

Tout ce qu'il faut pour s'échapper !

  • 4 of 5

This rustic house was just what we were looking for. It has all the amenities one needs: barbecue, good sized pool for the kids, kitchen accessories (right down to a ball of string that we needed for our kite!). Communication with the owner was friendly and good. The house keeps cool because of the stone walls, which was appreciable as it was quite hot during our stay. The house itself is nestled in a charming hamlet with lots of hiking trails - we didn't explore too much in the general area, but there seemed to be some nice restaurants around too. You have all the grocery stores, etc about 15 minutes away. The only suggestion I would make it to perhaps improve the quality of the mattress on the double bed last floor. Thanks for letting us stay!
