We hope you will like our place. It's very cozy and full of character. It has 1 bedroom with a double bed and an add on single bed and a living room with a double loft bed which together provide space for up to 5 people. We can also provide a travel cot including bedding if required. The dining kitchen with underfloor heating has everything you need for cooking including oils and spices and is equipped with oven, cooker, kettle, fridge and dishwasher. The bathroom has a nice contemporary feel to it with it's brick feature wall. It also features underfloor heating. There is a shower and a bathtub.

The nice front garden gets the sun in the afternoon. The flat is situated in a quiet, very atmospheric street, not far from the city center. 30 min on foot, 15 min by bus. The bus stop with buses that take you right into the center is just 1 min away. This area is also very close to Leith Harbour (about 10min walk) with many award winning restaurants and lovely cafe's and a big shopping centre (about 15 min walk) which also provides access to the Royal Yacht Britannia. 5-10min walk away there is a big supermarket (TESCO) for most shopping requirements, but there are also a few convenience stores just 2 min away on an adjourning street.

We are leaving a folder with instructions on how things work and recommendations for what to do in Edinburgh etc for you but we are almost always around if there is anything else you need help with.

We aim to meet every guest in person but if we are not in Edinburgh you will be able to enter the flat with your own key which you can retrieve from a key safe at the property. You will have access to everything within the flat apart from a store room where we leave some personal belongings.

My brother and I booked Daniela’s place as a surprise for our Mum’s birthday and it was perfect! The flat is beautiful-the photos only give you a snapshot. It’s light, bright and airy. As creative people, we found the space very inspiring with beautiful works of art dotted everywhere and interesting little design ideas and quirks. The flat was very clean, accessible and had everything we needed for the 3 nights we were there. Daniela was incredibly helpful, friendly, flexible and very easy to communicate with. We got the taxi from Prince Street when we first arrived as we didn’t know our way around. The flat is in a part of Leith, just outside the city centre. However, once we had checked in, we quickly got our bearings and getting the bus in and out of town was very straightforward. The buses are quite frequent and run till late. The flat is tucked away in a little cluster of streets-so nice and quiet. But the bus stop is literally a few minutes walk. There is also a big green space for walking and a friendly little café on the corner called ‘Bijou’ where we had an amazing cooked breakfast. I think the main thing that Mum commented on, was how lovely it was to come back at the end of the day to a ‘home’ rather than just a ‘room’ or a ‘hotel.’ Thank you Daniela for making us feel at home. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back if and when we’re in Edinburgh!

This is a cozy family home in a quiet Leith neighborhood. Very nice owners. Space enough for 2-4.

Tastefully furnished, lovely art work, very clean, warm and cozy, felt like home from home,

Although we did not meet the host, it felt very personal through text and phone contact. We felt well looked after. All went very well from arrival to departure. Uncomplicated key access. Lovingly decorated homely place. We had all we needed. Could even enjoy sunshine in little cute garden. Would definitely recommend and stay here again! Five stars! Thank you.

A magical haven

Beautifully presented, elegantly furnished and extremely cosy!

We visited during " The Beast from the East " snows and thanks to an extremely efficient central heating, underfloor heating and cosy log fire, we were as warm as toast inside.

The beds are super comfy, we all slept very well indeed.

The interior decor is wonderful with lots of interesting Art pieces in each room. There's an excellent washing machine too which was easy to use. The kitchen has everything you need in terms of utensils, saucepans and cooking trays. There's a very neat dishwasher too which was well used.

The bathroom is fantastic with a great shower and creative lighting surrounding the bath.

It's also dog friendly and is in a fabulous location with excellent walks and also excellent bus routes into town. Locally there is a big Tesco within walking distance and plenty of excellent takeaways, restaurants and pubs.

(If you're a family looking for a pub meal it's advisable to check if they're child friendly as many will only accept families if everyone is eating a full meal.)

We had a truly memorable experience here and we're already planning our next stay.

There are three bus stops just 1 min away. It only takes 15 min to get to the city centre (No's 25,12, 49 and 35), 20min to the Botanic Gardens (no 21), 15 min to Portobello beach (no 21 and 12). Taxi to and from the centre is around £7 and takes about 10 min.

Arriving from Edinburgh Airport: Take the Airlink 100 to Princes Street/Waverley Station and then no 25 or 12 to Gladstone place. Ask the driver if you are unsure. There is a co-op pharmacy, a pub and a lovely cafe called Bijou at the corner closest to our flat.

Arriving from Edinburgh Waverley station you can also take buses 25 or 12

Another option is to take bus no 49 which leaves from North Bridge, get off at Burns st. Our home is a 5 minute walk from here.

If there is more than 3 of you it probably makes more sense to take a taxi as it costs as much as the bus and takes you right onto our street.

If you are wanting to use public transport, make sure you have the right change ready. A single ticket (for one bus only, no changes) costs £1,70/ adult. A day ticket sets you back £4 but can be used all day on as many buses you want.

Tip: Download the Edinburgh Transport app, which is brilliant. Just type in address and it will tell you exactly where to go and which bus to hop on.
