Overview

About the property

Our little chocolate box cottage is newly refurbished with an open plan living room and kitchen, an open fire, Freeview TV and Wifi.

Cookham is a beautiful bustling typical English village with all the amenities and many lovely pubs and restaurants and easily accessible from London Paddington.

Close by is the Chiltern way meandering through stunning countryside and beautiful villages all usually equipped with typical cosy English pubs!

We are close many historical towns such as Henley on Thames (famous for it's regatta and riverside festival), Marlow (Tom Kerridge's Michelin star restaurant and his brasserie), Windsor (Famed for the queens favorite castle and residence, and of course Legoland) and many more including Bray (home of Hestons world famous Fat Duck).

The area epitomises rural country living and featured in the likes of Midsummer Murders, the Vicar of Dibley and "The Holiday" and yet it is within a few miles of the M4, M40 and the M25.

We are located down a little unmade lane, parking is available 100yds away next to the church as is the local pub, and have a small private cottage garden to the front.

Please be advised that the bathroom is on the ground floor, with a typically quaint cottage style steep, curving staircase up to the bedrooms (not suitable for anyone who finds difficulty climbing stairs).

Lovely place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this place, it’s small but really nice, atmospheric, modern. Great location if you like being in a typically British village next to a lovely pub and trails to walk on, really lovely well maintained little front yard / garden. Only improvements I could suggest would be to provide dishwasher tablets and bin bags, not a big deal to buy them ourselves but would have been useful. A fan would have been good as we stayed there during the ‘heatwave’ And it got really hot upstairs. Good clear communication and instructions from owner. Thank you we would be happy to come and stay at your lovely home next year.

Owner's Response: Thanks Phillippa, We now have a fan available. The dishwasher tablet and bin bag situation is rectified too, that was an oversight at turnaround so sorry for that. All the best Helen

Beautiful little cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Helen has a beautiful home and exquisite taste. Set in a quiet village with lovely country pubs on the doorstep. Close by to Marlow, Henley, Windsor and Maidenhead. Comfortable throughout with all the home comforts. The only thing it didn't have for us was a potato masher but a fork did the job. Whilst we didn't meet Helen her communication with us was brilliant and we would thoroughly recommend her home to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. We'll go back. Thanks Helen.
