Historic Baddiley Hall is a listed Georgian house dating from 1784 with origins from early 1500 and is located next to St Michael's, one of the oldest timber framed churches in Europe, which predates 1308. The West Wing is situated on 3 floors and occupies more than 2000 sq ft (>185 m2) . The house has been renovated by the present owners retaining its character while updating its facilities. The West Wing is accessed through its own secure entrance lobby at garden level, ideal for storing bicycles and sports equipment. Stairs lead up to the living accommodation comprising good sized bedroom 2 and a well equipped kitchen diner both on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor accommodates the large comfortable sitting room and spacious master bedroom. Each bedroom has a (US) King-size Bed with pocket sprung mattress and an en suite bath/shower room. On request bedroom 2 can be configured with twin beds. All rooms have uninterrupted views of the gardens and surrounding countryside. The house sits in grounds of 2.25 acres (9000 m2) of which 1 acre (3600 m2) is for use by West Wing guests.

Please be aware that the ceilings, which have beams, and the doorways are lower than a modern house. Ceilings are however a minimum 2 m, the lowest beam is 1.84 m and lowest doorway 1.75 m.

We have had many children quite happily stay but wish to make you aware that, because the West Wing has an open plan un-gated stairway, we do not recommend it suitable for unsupervised toddlers. For babes in arms please bring your own travel cot. We are happy to provide further information if required.

Stay is normally from two nights but single nights can be accommodated. Please enquire for availability.

Wrenbury Hall Wedding & Events Venue 2 miles distant. Inclusive package for wedding guests and event attendees includes accommodation, continental break-fast and chauffeuring to and from Wrenbury Hall. Please enquire for details.

Similar packages can be offered for other wedding/event venues in the area. Please ask for details.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets.

About Peter & Eve

Peter is from London and Eve from Southampton. We have lived in many places in the UK, Baddiley Hall was our 8th address in 13 years. We have traveled extensively at home and abroad and enjoy meeting people around the world and, through our rental, have them visit us.

Peter & Eve purchased this chateau / country house in 1999

Why Peter & Eve chose Nantwich

At the time of purchase Baddiley Hall had been neglected for many years and was in need of more than a little tender loving care. Choosing to move here was definitely heart over head but guess the house chose us. The house has now been extensively renovated both structurally and aesthetically. With our builder Eve planned, designed and oversaw the refurbishment, decoration and furnishing of every room (all 22). We enjoy living here and equally enjoy sharing it with our guests.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

We have uncovered many features that have been hidden for centuries and a visit from a descendant helped us identify both a name and a family crest. There has been a house on site since the time of the Domesday Book and the Ha Ha at the front of the house has been created from the original moat. The beams exposed in the West Wing reveal re-used oak window mouldings and carpenters marks.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow an amazing holiday break staying at the West Wing of Baddiley Hall. The owners Peter and Eve were very helpful providing useful information about the property and sites of interest in the local area before we arrived at the holiday accommodation. Peter and Eve made us feel very welcome on arrival and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The description of the accommodation matched our expectations. All the rooms were spacious and decorated in keeping with a wing of a historic Manor House. The rooms were comfortable and clean and contained everything you need for a 3 night break. This was a memorable break in 5 star accommodation the location was very peaceful but within easy access of many of the local attractions. I would recommend a stay in the West Wing of Baddiley Hall and will return for another stay at the hall to see other sites the local area has to offer which I missed first time round.

Many thanks for a warm welcome and your helpful information on sites of interest in the local area. The accommodation met all our expectations and this helped us have a relaxing, enjoyable break. We have told our family, friends and work colleagues the great experience we had staying in your 5 star accommodation and would love to return to explore more of the local area. You both have a lovely house and all credit to you both in the hard work you have put in to make it a great holiday accommodation. Many thanks Peter and Eve for a memorable stay.

What a wonderful two days we have just had in the West Wing of Baddiley Hall. It's stunning with the oak beams and wooden floors it's decorated and furnished beautifully we didn't want to leave.

The lovely owners have thought of everthing, we wanted for nothing.

Thank you so much

The Charm of Staying in a large Period House

  • 5 of 5

Spacious and comfortable accommodation for our party of four adults, off the beaten track and in a good location for exploring the countryside and attractions on offer. Peter & Eve are a warm welcoming couple and most approachable and, living on site, any questions were soon answered. The history of the Hall is most interesting and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. A very pleasant break.

Peace and quiet in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a wonderful six days here. The accommodation is spacious and immaculately clean. Both bedrooms en-suite, a full size bath and comfy beds. The kitchen has everything required with a good sized dining table which seats six. There is also a large garden which leads onto a path through the fields down to the canal. Sainsbury supermarket is just fifteen minutes by car and there are are also a number of excellent pubs in the area. The owners Peter and Eve were really helpful and provided good information about the area. Would definitely book again.
