About Carol Howcutt

I love spending time by the sea, painting and dipping my toes in the water. When we purchased the property, I loved decorating it and I hope you feel at home there too.

Gardening is one of my favourite things and I love being inspired by all the National Trust properties I visit.

Carol Howcutt purchased this apartment in 2014

Why Carol Howcutt chose Dartmouth

This is quiet spot close to plenty of attractions. Within 15 minutes on foot, you can be at the beach cafe or kicking off your shoes for a paddle. The property is secluded and it's the perfect place to relax after a day exploring. Dartmouth is a short drive away and it's here you'll find plenty of restaurants. In fact, it's become quite the foodie spot with some well known chefs (including Mitch Tonks) opening up restaurants. There's also traditional pubs if you want to enjoy a cosy drink after feeling the wind in your hair. The artists among you will relish all the small independent galleries and there's a lovely art shop to buy any supplies you've left at home. And across the estuary, you'll find Greenways – Agatha Christie's former home which is now in the hands of the National Trust. Whether you like to enjoy fine food, love a bracing beach walk, relish reading or relax by painting, you'll find plenty here.

What makes this apartment unique

Stoke Fleming is a well-serviced village with a pub, restaurant, village store and wine bar. And it's just 2 minutes walk from the house.

If you enjoy walking, you'll be able to lace up your boots and head straight out walking the coastal path all the way to Dartmouth. Enjoy spotting seabirds and, if you're really lucky, you might spot a seal.

3 White Ladies, Stoke Fleming a Pretty Coastal Village .
average rating of 4.8333335 based on 18 reviews

Very well presented appartment in a secluded and private location.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was modern inside with everything you need. Secluded to the rear of the property we had no disturbances from anyone around us. The conservatory gave us easy access to the gardens which we used, again with no disturbances from others. The village is ideally located for a short trip to Dartmouth. It has a village shop, a great pub plus a wine bar and take away bar within quick walking distance. We drank and ate at the wine bar ‘Radius7’ and can thoroughly recommend it. The pub, ‘Green Dragon’ has an excellent range of beverages and also served good grub. We thoroughly recommend this appartment, the village and this area for a great, relaxing holiday.

Lovely apartment - modern style, well provisioned and quiet

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely apartment, well located in the pretty village of Stoke Fleming and just a 10 minute drive to Dartmouth. It is in a quiet spot with a garden and conservatory to sit out in. The apartment itself is a good size for 2 people, beautifully furnished 'beach style' and contained everything we needed. Nice walk from the apartment down to Blackpool Sands. Owner helpful. We would definitely use again if coming back to the area. Our only minor suggestion for an improvement would be to have a motion sensitive light outside for when you arrive in the dark!

Owner's Response: Thank you Yvonne for your kind words. It is nice to know that you had an enjoyable stay and may return sometime, you are very welcome.Thank you also for drawing to my attention the outside light. I purchased it as it looked very Coastal. My Husband did say it wasn’t practical as it only can be switched on once inside the property (we will be changing it.l wasn’t being very practical) Once again thank you for your booking and leaving the apartment absolutely spotless. Kind Regards Carol.

Lovely well equipped property

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay at this property.

Private car parking space that comes with this property is a must for this village.

There are steps down to this property (although there is a handrail).

We ate in the conservatory every night, but one with wonderful views of the garden and the sea in the distance.

Bedroom is large with plenty of storage.

Kitchen is well appointed with fan oven.

Bathroom has fantastic large double shower cubicle.

Corner shop/Post Office and Radius7 restaurant both less than 200m from front door.

Local pub (Green Dragon) was very nice - make sure you book if you want to eat there.

Short walk to Blackpool sands.

Bus stop less than 100m from property. Bus number3 will take you to Dartmouth one way or Kingsbridge the other.

If driving to Dartmouth I would recommend the park and ride service which is near Lidl.

Owner was responsive to emails

We couldn't get mobile phone signal at this property.

Can also recommend the mobile chip van - see poster in bus stop.

All in all we had a very enjoyable relaxing stay here.

Great location very well equipped with everything that you might need.

Had a lovely time at 3 white ladies..handy parking and easy walk to fabulous little restaurant and bar. Post office and convenience store very handy too 😊Blackpool Sands and Strete, a little further along, are both beautiful. Easy to spend the whole day at B.S.... good cafe too.

Would have liked a full length mirror somewhere in the apartment but other than that very comfortable and clean, kept to a high standard. Nice view out in to the garden. Thank you Carole for your knowledge and guidance about where to eat etc. Definitely would recommend. Note we had no phone signal at all...not a bad thing on one's holidays though 😁 Wi-Fi was good to have though.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments Kam, I will have a think where to put A full length Mirror I quite agree it would be handy, although I do love my Porthole mirrors. Thank goodness for WiFi. The mobile Phone signal is a problem in Our apartment as we are lower down in the Garden if you have WIFI calling with your provider its fine. Alternately up out of the Property there are parts of the Village where you can get a signal, sorry kam I should of mentioned this,I hope this doesn't stop you from coming again as you are welcome at any time. Kind Regards. Carol

No 3 White ladies is a very comfortable and fully equipped apartment with nice views into the gardens and with a distant view of the sea. It is situated within a very nice village and is very handy for the shop and post office. For people who wish to travel around by the local bus service, the bus stop is 2 minutes away.
