Convenient Location in Historic Jewish Ghetto

  • 4 of 5

First off, working with Federico was fantastic. He was very helpful with information, responding quickly to questions on every topic and made our trip that much better. Linnea was waiting as our car arrived to orient us to the apartment, area and to answer any questions we had. She provided us with many restaurant suggestions and places to see that were where the locals go. The apartment was up 96 steps, but both my teens and I, did not let that bother us even after a long day seeing the sights. The beds were comfortable, amenities exactly as stated in the property description and a great view from the rooftop patio. We were able to walk to everything and yet we were not in the touristy crowds. We would return to this property again. Thank you Federico

Great apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for my wife and I and three adult children. Walking distance to everything including a summer festival on the river, and the rooftop provided a great spot to end each day. Fede was very helpful in meeting us upon arrival and arranging a van-size taxi for our departure.

Great Location - awesome rooftop terrace

  • 5 of 5

Had family in town here in Northern Italy and Rome of course was on the itinerary. We arrived at the train station, took a 5 minute cab ride to the apartment to find Federico waiting for us by the front door, offering to help carry luggage up the 4 flights of stairs (95 steps to be exact). Definitely not handicapped accessible - and after walking all over Rome, the steps were a bit daunting at the end of the day. However, the building is a historical landmark and I don't think an elevator is in the works anytime soon. While the building was under serious restoration (lots of construction guys, scaffolding, dust) the apartment was exceptionally clean and quiet. We hardly knew the construction guys were there. Can't wait to see the building when all is complete.

Located in the Jewish Ghetto, this place is prime real estate in terms of walking to/from all over downtown. 20 minute walk to the Vatican in one direction, 15 minute walk to Coliseum/Forum in the other. Piazza Navona is approximate 5 blocks to the north. There are so many great restaurants located within 1 block - too many to list. The bedrooms were large by European standards, nice large living room, and the kitchen was just right. 2 full bathrooms - one had a large stand up Jacuzzi type shower/tub combination, with laundry facilities. The other was a small hallway bath - more like a half bath with a shower head stuck in the corner. It worked just fine, but everything, including sink and toilet get soaked as there is no divider for the shower area. Different than what one might expect, but that's what makes trips like these even more memorable.

The best part of the apartment is the rooftop terrace. It is small, but the view is incredible. We sat up there every night and chatted while taking in the views of the city (with a bottle of wine of course). Even saw fireworks on two separate nights - over different parts of the city.

Federico was very professional, provided great information (there is a long history of the Cenci Family and the building), lending a bit more to the stay. He also acquired transportation for us to the airport at the end of the stay. No worries or stress from our end on how to get to the airport/train station at the end of our stay.

I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for something a bit more authentic and local - rather than staying at a high priced hotel anywhere in the city. Thanks Federico! It was a great trip!

Perfect base to discover Rome

  • 5 of 5

We were two adult pairs and spent a great week in this appartment.

In Detail...

Location: The appartement lies in the middle between Capitol hill and Trastevere. Charming area. There are several supermarkets near by, the closest Coop only about 100m. Other diverse shops at the nearby Largo di Torre Argentina.

The flat:

The kitchen is tiny but functional. We cooked dinner on 5 of the 7 nights. As long as you don't expect to create a 3 course banquet you should be fine.

There are two bathrooms, one spacious, one tiny (containing nothing but a shower and toilet). Worked well for us.

The living room has a comfy couch and a large round table that we gathered round for dinner, talks and play every evening.

The beds are of good quality. One bedroom has a large double bed and wardrobes, the other two singles and no wardrobes. The latter has windows that face the Via Arenula. As long as they were closed the traffic noise didn't bother us.

The gem of the flat is the terrace on the roof. Sitting above the roofs of Rome with a glass of wine after a day full of impressions is itself something to remember.

The owner was very helpful and friendly.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment and management was great. We arrived at 1:30 am and Federico met us at the apartment and even took the time to show us on a map where everything was located. He also organized additional transportation for us to and from the airport when we decided to go to Torino for the day. The views from the terrace were wonderful. As another reviewer pointed out, there are a lot of stairs (95 to be exact), so be prepared. It was a little difficult after a long day of site seeing. The location is great. It was only about a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and the Forum. We chose to walk every where and not use public transportation. Some sites were a little further to walk to, but we got to experience things that we wouldn't have on a bus! The apartment itself is very charming and was roomy enough for our family of four adults.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this beautiful and interesting apartment. It is situated in a really atmospheric area within walking distance of all the main sites. The views from the windows and the terrace are spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Just be aware that there really are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment but it is worth it. It's perfect for families but you would struggle with a baby or a toddler. Federico was extremely helpful and very welcoming. He organised our transfers to and from the airport and was quick to answer any queries and questio
