I'm a Consultant for Non Profits, who loves nature, am always ready for the adventure of travel, I deeply enjoy the peacefulness of Yoga and am always hungry for the great food my husband cooks. He is Spanish and boy can he cook!
Lizzie and Carlos purchased this house in 2009
The property was passed down to me from family and has been mutual project for my husband and I. We have worked on and cared for every detail of our house. It's a great place to disconnect and enjoy your surroundings. And though most people go for the peace and quiet, there is also so much to offer in the area and in Vermont in general. From the adrenaline seekers that want to ski, hike or paraglide, the layer back type that just want to read a Robert Frost's compilation in front of the huge fireplace at the house (and we are really near where he once lived, so we were technically neighbours.)
We have 40 Acres of land that give you endless possibilities to walk around a wonderful nature filled area. Every season is different, but all incredibly beautiful. We love to relax in the Hot Tub, get cozy in front of the fire pit with friends or go to many of the local restaurants that offer great quality food. Or maybe you want to stay in, everything in the house is designed for confort. We totally remodeled the house in 2013, so everything is new, clean and updated. Like I said my husband loves to cook, so the kitchen is fully stocked with anything you may need. For the Tv lovers we have a large 65'' TV, with cable and good internet thru out the house. All the linens are soft cotton and goose down so you get that well needed sleep to carry out your adventures the next day. We also have some of the loveliest farms around that offer great local season products from strawberries, amazing Vermont cheese, prime angus steaks or maybe some real free range chicken eggs bought from one of our nearby neighbours. We are here to help you have the experience you want, just let us know and we will make it happen.

Loved our stay is this beautiful and cozy cabin. Stayed with a group of friends. The drive from Boston is absolutely beautiful through the mountains and the cabin itself is located in a very private location in Shaftsbury VT. It is a short drive from Stratton Mountain where we enjoyed some great skiing. Also, in the area is Manchester where you can do some serious shopping at the outlets or grab some dinner/drinks at one of the many restaurants in the area. The kitchen in the cabin has everything that you need to cook in as well as use the grill which is what we did so we went to the local supermarket (Price Chopper) in Bennington which is really close by and enjoyed our dinners by the warm fireplace in the heart of the cabin. I loved sleeping in the loft bedroom because of all the windows surrounding it where the view of the snowfall, the trees and the sky is spectacular. I highly recommend this place to enjoy the skiing season but also be able to explore the many local attractions of this area of Vermont outside of the skiing resorts.
I spent a delightful month in June and July at Wyvernal to work on my writing. The house was clean, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully stocked with everything anyone could want, from extra throw blankets for keeping warm by the fire to fluffy beach towels for the beautiful hot tub on the deck. The beds are so comfortable that my guests claimed they had never slept better in their lives! The owners, Carlos and Lizzie, were very friendly and responsive to all my questions, and the property manager came by to check in at least once a week. The assortment of books on the shelves made me feel right at home, as they included titles by many of my favorite writers. The birds, butterflies, and wildflowers were profuse and spectacularly beautiful, and I discovered a new species of birds or flora everyday. I kept the house nature guides by my side until my last day! Bring binoculars! Despite its seeming remoteness, the house is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and historical points of interest. We had a fabulous meal at the Arlington Inn and dined at Pangaea three times! A climb up Mt. Equinox is worth its admission, and the bookstore in Manchester is excellent.
There are a few things renters should be aware of. Lake Shaftsbury Park does not allow dogs, so I had to hunt around for trails in the area. The house is not air conditioned, and there is no grill. In early summer, there were about four nights that were pretty uncomfortable, but the rest of the time, even when it went into the 80s during the day, it was cool inside. The house itself is set well off the road in the middle of a marsh without much of a view (the best view is from the little window in the shower!). You can glimpse the mountains through the dead trees and pines in the swamp, but there is no water view unless you walk down the driveway to the little stream or take a longer walk around the bend in the road where the stream widens and the mountains come into view. Though you can hear partying on weekends, you cannot see the neighboring houses. However, you couldn't ask for more privacy, and, surprisingly, there were few flies, mosquitos, spiders, or snakes.
Having owned a rental myself for several years in North Myrtle Beach, I have to say these owners thought of nearly everything to make their guests feel like home. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a worry-free and private getaway!
Loved the house and it's location! It was a great place to walk the dog. Felt right at home! THE BEST THING WAS THE QUICK RESPONSE TO ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD!! Thank You!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect getaway for us and our dog. Lizzie and Carlos were more than accommodating, and Troy, the 24 hour property manager, was super attentive and helpful. We had such a relaxing time away from it all. The property is absolutely beautiful. We spent one full day hiking through the mountains in the backyard. The sunrises and sunsets from the deck were unreal, but the star gazing at night was like nothing we had ever seen before. As secluded as we felt, we were only a short drive to restaurants and shopping. I somehow forgot to pack my toiletry bag, but in addition to some basics Lizzie and Carlos had at the house, I was able to get everything I needed at the Walmart not too far from the property. They said they want guests to feel like they are staying at a friend's house, and that is exactly how it felt. Tons of comfort and character. We will definitely be back!!

We were very happy with our stay here!. The house was very nice and clean and had all the amenities that you'd need to have a relaxing vacation. The property was fantastic and offered the privacy and piece and quite we were looking for. We have stayed at other places in the area and this one is at the top of our list. We would definitely come again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family!
We had an amazing time at Carlos and Lizzie's cabin. Everything was perfect, the house, the nature around and the hot tub! The house was clean and well equipped, with all we needed. The location is very convenient, it is into the woods but very close to many villages. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and the beauty of the landscapes. We are looking forward to come back for the skin season! Highly recommended!
