Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cabin in Crosslake

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 9 Sleeps

If you are looking for the 'cabin experience', this classic Minnesota cabin won't disappoint. This property was just completely renovated in the fall of 2014 and is a brand new listing on the rental market as of late March 2015. Essentially this property is brand new inside and out. Done in a true cabin feel, it has a wonderful open floor plan on the main level that features a combined great room/kitchen/living room. This area features vaulted ceilings, a wonderful screen porch overlooking the lake and a real stone fireplace for those chilly nights; and all with panoramic views of beautiful O'brien Lake. The main level further features a lakeside master bedroom and bathroom complete with tile shower. The lower level features an additional bedroom, a second designated bunk room, and an additional informal bunk area along with a second bathroom which also includes a custom tile shower. In addition, the lower level features a built-in game/puzzle table along with a leather sectional couch and entertainment area for a rainy day or movie night! The lower level also features tremendous lake views and all interior spaces (main and lower level) flow seamlessly to a large lakeside firepit area just steps from the water for those true Minnesotan's! The rental comes complete with a pontoon boat (2014 Bennington), and of course a hammock in the yard for those lazy days. For those that need to stay connected, the cabin also includes Wi-Fi and two high definition TV's with DirecTV (including a lower level area that has a blue ray DVD player and surround sound). And don't worry, you won't be roughing it, the 2014 renovation was done in good taste so along with the granite counter tops, the wood plank floors, and the reclaimed details it also brought all new mechanical systems including air conditioning, new appliances, and a Culligan softened water system.

Situated 5 miles east of the town of Crosslake, crystal clear Lake O'Brien is spring fed with a water clarity of 24', the cleanest lake in the entire watershed district. The lake itself is surrounded by mature pines. There is approximately 5 miles of shoreline, of which about a quarter of the lake is undeveloped state owned property. During the summer, this recreational lake is perfect for fishing, skiing, wake boarding canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and all water based activities, including floating on an air mattress!! There is a sandbar where you can walk across the lake which is a favorite gathering spot for 'kids of all ages'!! It's location on a quiet tar township road make it perfect for a morning walk or bike ride. During the winter months the lake is perfect for ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and is a perfect base camp to access the endless miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

This property is perfect for a family, an extended family, or a couple families; we have a limit of 9 occupants. There are 2 Queen beds (1 per bedroom), 3 single beds (in the bunk areas) and a double bed (bottom bunk). We do keep our calendar updated and so if you are seeing availability then it's likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list so you are prepared for your time up north. Feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard. And further, since we also live on this lake, should any questions or problems arise we can respond quickly. In fact, your only disappointment will be when you have to leave!!

Wonderful Fall Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a the O'Brien Lake Cabin during the 2nd weekend of November for a long weekend. We truly enjoyed the cabin for it's easy living and the location. The large surrounding windows brought the outside light into the cabin. It was like camping, but with ALL the comforts and none of the hassle. It felt remote, but the convenience of the Crosslake grocery stores and restaurants being 10 min away allowed flexible options for whatever we wanted to do. We had a great day trip of driving up to Walker (Reed's Sporting Good store) and then Bemidji to see Paul Bunyan and Babe and looped back through Itasac State Park. I would recommend this cabin and location to anyone! Renae and Matt were great hosts and easy to work with. We'll look forward to planning another trip here!

Beautiful in every way!

We thoroughly enjoyed the well appointed, spotless cabin, fires inside and out, and cruising on the pontoon to view the lovely fall colors. We look forward to returning soon!!

The home is gorgeous with fabulous finishes. They did a great job with construction and the design.

We wish there had been walking paths near by instead of just a road but luckily the road traffic wasn't heavy. The lot was also nicely landscaped but wished the homes had been further apart for more privacy. Overall great experience.

We were taken back by the beauty of the cabin and scenery...

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we opened the door to the cabin we fell in love. From the music playing in the background to the big soft towels for the shower. The views out the windows were spectacular. The owners made check in a breeze and were very helpful during our stay. We had everything we needed from wood for the camp fire to spices, etc. Having the use of the pontoon was wonderful. I had many mornings on the screen porch having my coffee. We highly recommend the trail at Uppgaard Nature area it was so pretty. The area around the cabin was so quiet and peaceful. Cross lake was close by for groceries and good restaurants. Thank you Matt and Renea for a wonderful stay at your cabin! Renee and Craig

A gem of a cabin

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for somewhere special for a three day getaway for my family and this lovely cabin met every one of our needs and expectations. It is exactly as the photographs portray -- beautifully designed and thoughtfully furnished with plenty of room for me, my husband and our four twenty-something children. It's on a quiet end of the lake and in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning from the porch and the big windows in the upstairs bedroom. We loved the open floor plan and all being together while cooking, working at the table, watching tv. The lower level was nice when we needed a bit more room to spread out. The sound system was wonderful and now I'm trying to figure out how we could get this for our own home! We spent lots of time outside around the fire pit and boating around the lake on the pontoon. Mid October was a lovely time to be there -- the lake was quiet and the fall colors were just beautiful. Some of us enjoyed a few of the top-notch golf courses in the area and Crosslake was a cute little town to explore. Matt and Renae were the perfect hosts and very quick to respond to any questions we had. We are so glad we went and will definitely be back!
