This cabin is an awesome alternative to tent camping located on the beautiful and historic Bair Ranch in Glenwood Cabin. This one room Cabin offers guests and experience of Rocky Mountain camping with comfort and security. The cabins sit at the edge of a nice little pond spring fed pond. Rather than driving all day to a campsite and fighting to get your tent up, you can arrive at your cabin and set your gear inside, lay out your sleeping bag and enjoy a campfire.
These cabins are one room. There is a front porch where you can set your camp chair and take in a beautiful Colorado evening. In the cabin there is a full bed and a set of bunks. A mattress with fitted sheet is provided and the bunks have covered pads.
There is NO bathroom in the cabin but the bathouse is just a few yards away. In the bath house there are both men's and women's showers and restroom facilities.
Quiet, since we had all the cabins rented it was very much our own place. The lighting did not work, nor was there hot water; not sure what the status was there. The cabins appear to be in the process of adding lighting. It's disappointing they spent the money to build the cabins, yet did not put a cheap potbelly stove in each for warm, with the benefit of easy cooking.
Finding our way wasn't difficult, however a map would be great.
We definitely enjoyed our last minute overnight trip to Glenwood Springs & staying at this location. The cabin was clean and in great condition and the bed was comfortable. It's ideally located to both Glenwood Springs and Hanging Lake for anyone wanting to venture there. Vaniel was very helpful and accommodating with getting us directions to our cabin and readily available by phone for any questions. The road back to the cabin was rougher than expected but we managed with our Honda Civic by going very slowly. Would recommend a SUV though to anyone else. Overall it was a very positive experience!
Property and view was nice but the service provided was very disappointing. The information provided for the property was not well communicated at all. VRBO states no information available for this property. Had no address to arrive too. Called multiple times and not able to reach anyone for several hours. Gate was locked and advised 24 Hr notice needed if arriving in evening but not on website. Woman that assisted very unaccomodating and unprofessional. Bathroom had no lighting other than one skylight above one toilet stall. No picnic table. No fire ring forces to use community fire amongst all other cabins. No one came by to greet us next day. Events were held for people renting cabins and we were excluded. Went to trailer that we were told was office. Guy knew nothing and said it was self entertainment required. He did not work for the company that rents cabins. We cut our trip short for a night ..no refund available 4 week notice for cancel required.
I stayed at the cabins with my boyfriend for an adventure weekend and we loved it! I like the outdoors, but I'm not a fan of camping in a tent and sleeping on the ground. These cabins were the perfect mix of camping while still having a roof over our head. We went on a sunset dinner horseback ride down at the ranch which I highly recommend. The cabins have little grills out front and share a bathhouse. It is a bit of a trek from the ranch to the cabins, so make sure your vehicle is all wheel drive. The cabins were clean and simple. We definitely plan on staying at the Bair Ranch cabins in the future!
We needed a last minute place to stay. Price was great. Did not know what to expect. Cabin was a bit more remote than planned and a little chalenging for a car, but workable. Timing the check in was a little daunting. however we usually just like to go with whatever for the day no time lines so this could just be a personal issue.
Cabin was clean, fire pit great, stars awsome, quiet, warm cabin. Bring bug spray.Had to walk in supplies, not bad but expected to drive right up to door. We will deffinitly stay again and utilize the atv rentals and horseback riding.
The cabin the view were spectacular. Expect that I wasn't told that the cabin is 15 minutes from the ranch and the ranch is about 15-20 minutes from Glenwood Springs. This was really disappointed for my family because I was told that the cabin was 15 minutes from GS. The place was fill with mosquitos and we decided that we didn't want to stay with our 6 months old baby in a far away cabin without electricity or phone signal. I didn't like that I wasn't told the exact location of the cabin. I would not stay there again.
