I first visited Jensen Beach as a child and loved the sunshine. beaches and small town feeling. As an adult I returned and raised my family here. After almost forty years I relocated to St Louis but still loved the life style of the Jensen area and, so, purchased this small piece of paradise called Mango Tree Cottage. I hope you will visit and enjoy everything the cottage and the area have to offer.
Barbara Menold purchased this cottage in 2015
I chose this as my "home away from home" because the location seemed perfect. Quiet and off the beaten track but so convenient to everything. Of course, the very large mango trees that shade the back yard and make it so peaceful here made it perfect, hence the name "Mango Tree Cottage"
Something for everyone. Like fishing? The best. Like boating? Can't be beat, with the wide Indian River almost at your front door, the St. Lucie and the Atlantic so close, it is a boater's paradise. Great dining from funky to fine. Entertainment close by - Jammin' Jensen every Thursday evening in downtown Jensen - walk to main street and enjoy. Museums (The Elliott, House of Refuge, Environmental Center) Art fairs, craft fairs, antiquing, shelling, kayaking on the rivers. Always something to do. Tennis and golf venues abound in the area. Great shopping - malls to boutiques. Then, of course, there is relaxing under the mango trees or working on your suntan. Beautiful beaches just across the causeway - 10 minutes away. In the evenings enjoy live theater in nearby Stuart or take in a movie at the mall.
Cottage was adorable, beautifully decorated, with all necessary amenities. The owner is friendly and responsive. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Dog park nearby, also parks with hiking trails, beaches and kayaking. Only wish there were a fenced in yard for dogs. There are train tracks close by, and passing trains can be heard several times a day and at night, which might bother some. Would definitely recommend.
Walk to Environmental Center to learn about sea turtle rescue and the unique ecology of the Indian River Lagoon. Historical Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge and the Elliott Museum on Hutchinson Island both worth a visit, as is the museum at the historical Stuart Feed and Supply store on Flagler Ave. in Stuart. Sailing school and Indian River Park is one mile away. Indian River is down the street. Two hours to Disneyworld and other Orlando attractions.
