Directly in the middle of the Alamitos Beach downtown district. The entire suite is yours to enjoy ~ only a few blocks from the beach. Walking distance to eclectic cafes, shops, restaurants, bars and markets.

A local Vons grocery market and a Fresh & Easy grocery store are within a 5-minute walk. There is also a Friday Farmers Market a couple blocks away.

Easy Transit from LAX by metro. Take free shuttle in airport to metro station, take metro to Willow Station and change for the Blue Line towards Long Beach.

Free public transport in Long Beach to all touristic locations provided by red bus Passport.

AWFUL! Do NOT rent

The property looked very nice but imagine my surprise when I went to the rental property , only to realize another family was staying there! I called the property manager immediately and was told that there was a mistake and they had to move families around because of a painting schedule on the other property. We were told we'd get an upgrade"...we would be right across from the beach...it was awful. They put my family into a unit that was being painted. Absolutely no privacy and located directly on Ocean Blvd. the bus stop was right outside my window...did I montuno there were no curtains?! So much ch for renting a particular property, only to be located to a different place. After days of nagging, we were finally able to get into the property I originally rented. The unit was a very quain craftsman style home. The decor was nice, there were curtains and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Cons: working with Aaron (the owner) is strongly discouraged. Contracts mean nothing and he doesn't return phone calls or emails. This is a business for him, not someone renting out their "home". The property does a lot of B and B overnight stays. Neighbor's are not happy about this because it has changed the flavor of their neighborhood. Very transient... The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The master bed is ok but the pull out bed is saggy and impossible to sleep on. The futon is like a cement slab. The floor is more comfortable. Parking is atrocious and you have to park many blocks away, often in an unsavory neighborhood. Cleanliness of the unit gets a 1 out of 10.

PROS: the unit is cute and the property manager really tried, but when you put another family in your rental, it sours the whole experience. Great soaking tub in the bathroom, but for some reason they plastered a claw foot rub into the wall. Result is ugly and there's a lot of mold build-up.

I really try to write positive things in my reviews, however, In this case, it is very difficult. In closing, DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY OR DEAL WITH Aaron.

Overall, the apartment was not what I expected.

I was warned about the lack of parking - not bad, since I didn't have a car.

The neighborhood was rough enough that it gave me pause to walk around at night.

The apartment itself was not fancy. Comfortable, but not loved either. For a vacation rental, it was missing care... the overall ambiance was run down.

I would never stay at this place ever again

We were really looking forward to staying at this place because of the location, however, we felt very mislead because there was no parking anywhere and we had a rental car. We were told that it said there was no parking in the description of the property, but it isn't here anywhere. Very mislead. We had to drive around every night looking and hoping for a place to park. They have a list of paid parking places i the area but you have to walk back several blocks, and one of them makes you move the car by 7 AM. So much for being able to sleep in on your vacation.

Another thing that bothered us was that the heater in the unit wasn't working properly. The heater itself must be 100 years old (no joke) and the knob would get stuck so you couldn't turn it off when it got too hot. Then we had to call the property manager every day to come over and light the heater for us. She was really nice, but that's not the point. We shouldn't have to be inconvenienced like that every day.

Other than those 2 things, the place was clean and cute, but it does need some updating. It's really old and in need of updating. They didn't even have good pillows to sleep on. I would really reconsider staying somewhere else if I were you....and this is the first review I have ever left like this. It makes me sad to do this, but I have to be honest.

Worst place I've ever stayed

First, we arrived only to discover there was no parking. The property manager told us they make it clear in their ad there is no parking. There is not one word stated about parking in the property description. Not only is there no parking spot to go with this condo, there is no street parking. It was a nightmare parking the car. The chevron station would only allow you to park until 7am, so it meant getting up early and then driving around and around to try and find street parking. Not to mention a total drag having to get up and out by 7 am.

In addition, the property manager lied to us and said no one else had trouble with the heater. Now I see a review from another guest that says the same thing about the heater. After staying for 3 days we left a day early because we were tired of the cold. We actually had to the get the property manager in everytime to light the heater for us...totally inconvenient. The property manager also told us the owner has a strict no refund policy. Well I will be letting VRBO know about our experience.

I've used VRBO for years and have never had such a terrible experience. I would urge you to find somewhere better to stay.

heating did not work, owner ignored us.

The place a bit tired and run down but it was clean. However, the heater did not work and they were not able to fix it for 3 days (granted this was in the Thanksgiving week, but it should have been working from the start) . We left one day early and moved to a hotel because it was simply too cold to stay there. I asked the owner for a partial refund but they did not even felt the need to reply, completely ignored me, not even an apology.....

Great Apartment

Spic and span apartment close to downtown and beaches! Overhead fans and operable windows keep the air flowing. Tough street parking, but can park two blocks away at gas station for small fee. Would definitely come back again! Long Beach was definitely way cooler an experience than I had imagined!
