Detached Cottage, 2 Bedooms, 1 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4
What makes this Cottage unique
A walkers paradise with stunning scenery and comfort
Perfect in the Irish Countryside
Our host was gracious and welcoming. The cottage was beautiful and well appointed. Everything was perfect...even the weather!
It was a great pleasure and joy to have the party as guests.
I greatly enjoyed their company.
And thank you very much for the delightful sunrise pictures.
Quiet house in rural Ireland with excellent walking nearby.
Great place to stay, would stay here again. House was very cozy and comfortable
Beautiful, well appointed property, quality and attention to detail throughout, lovely grounds.
Quiet, pastoral setting amongst gorgeous grounds, and a cottage with attention to every detail of its beautiful design archetecture. It has a well appointed kitchen with a French press for coffee drinkers, and an electric kettle and tea pot for those who prefer tea. We were greeted upon arrival with packages of fresh tea and ground coffee as well as a carton of whole milk in the fridge...so appreciated after long hours of travel and first time driving on the Left side of the road! The bathroom has a full length, deep soaking tub and a shower I wish I could find in the US. The bathroom also has a dual washer/dryer set up with laundry detergent, a laundry basket and drying rack available. We put them all to good use. There are two bedrooms on either side of the cottage including one with an offset twin bed compartment, and its own vanity and sink in addition to the main double bed and armoire. The bedding is luxurious and the beds are most comfortable. Desmond and Priscilla who own this property and live in the main house next door, are attentive, kind and caring. They readily provide maps, brochures and verbal input and guidance for your visit, but also ensure your privacy. This property is situated south and slightly west of Dublin within an hour's drive of the airport, and allows for an easy drive to Kilkenny Castle and Design Center, all the way down to Waterford. By the way, the Birr Castle is not to be missed if you have any interest in astronomy, engineering, photography, or botony. They have trees and plants that are now extinct in their countries of origin. It is a two hour drive from the cottage. And the West Coast of Ireland is 4 hours away and more. It is a good idea to download off line maps for everywhere you are going and your return home. And use the M and N roads whenever you can.
Thank you for passing on.
Dear Calista and Robin, Sorry for delay in replying. Thank you for a wonderful review which I know will be very helpful to other potential visitors ( not to mention us )
We very much enjoyed meeting you and you kept the good weather with us .Many thanks for the Fragolina de Bosco by Schenatti ∇la Morte ( wild strawberry liquor ).what a lovely present -very thoughtful- now I know what to do with the few wild Alpine strawberries on the terrace behind the cottage!
Hopefully you will return to Ireland sometime soon.
