Charming cottage with a great view.
Charming cottage with a great view. We loved staying here. It was just the right size for the 2 of us.
GREAT LOCATION & WHAT WE LOVED
It was about an hour away from Galway, and we spent a few days there. Also we drove the Wild Atlantic Way, and explored the many castles in the region. Every person we met was friendly & welcoming. Great region of the country. Lovely local pub. The view of the water is gorgeous from this cottage. There is a large stone directly in front of it, but look to the left & right and it’s stunning. All of that glass made it the perfect place to sit and enjoy life. We never even turned on the TV. It couldn’t compete with the view. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. Washer worked well. We would definitely come back and rent this house again!
We had a few challenges during our stay: the first 2 nights there was no heat & no WiFi. Luckily we met the gentleman staying in the house on the property & he helped get the heat on & find the WiFi password for us. WiFi continued to be spotty, which didn’t bother us as we were out traveling. But if you needed it to be reliable for some reason, just be aware it is not consistent. The shower has very little pressure and the single knob made it difficult to adjust the temperature- it was very temperamental going from hot to cold and back again.
SUGGESTIONS FOR THE HOME OWNER
1. A few more hangers, there were only 4. As there is no dryer, having some extra hangers to dry clothes would have been very helpful. Also as of today, your listing statuses there is a dryer. But there is no dryer.
2. Hooks on the back of doors - for hanging jackets or towels to dry.
3. A shower caddy- instead of having to put everything on the floor.
4. A hand towel for the bathroom. We were give 1 bath towel each & 1 kitchen towel for the 5 night stay. One extra hand towel for the bathroom would have been great so we didn’t have to use the kitchen towel.
5. Cottage binder. Consider having a little welcome binder that could include Items such as: the WiFi password, where to purchase food, some suggestions on things to do in the area, etc.
Overall a lovely experience and we would come back to see this beautiful country again! Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Beautiful location and views, very friendly community
The cottage was nice, couldn't ask for a better location! Close day trips to Connamara, Westport, Clifden, and Galway. The Glynsk House is worth the 15min drive for the friendly staff, good food and drinks, and nice gift shop. The WIFI doesn't work inside the cottage, but with all the gorgeous scenery it doesn't matter too much. Thanks for the hospitality!
Freundliche, zahme Tiere.
