Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday condo in Sevierville - English Mountain Resort

Enjoy my cozy, comfortable condo while exploring the Smokey Mountain!

Mountain Condo at the top of the Smokies!

2nd and 3rd Condo available upon request, if this one is booked or you need another one for a friend..

Enjoy the Smokey Mountains at it best in my English Mountain Resort Condo located on top of English Mountain. The English Mountain Resort is one of the Smokey Mountain's hidden surprises. It is located above the Forbidden Caverns which are located under the Smokies. My place will sleep 4 to 5. It has a queen size bed in the master bedroom, a queen sofa sleeper in the living room, and a matching sofa that can be used as a twin bed. The villa has a stone, fireplace with gas logs, full kitchen with dishwasher, cookware, etc. You will love setting or swinging on the wrap around deck. while enjoying the mountain air. From the deck you can almost touch the clouds. I love seeing the moon over the treetops and the sun rising over the top of the Mountains. Even though you will enjoy the remoteness of the condo, the chalet has internet service, phone, and cable TV. Cable is in the bedroom and the living room. The chalet is street level so you can walk straight from the parking lot into the condo. This is perfect for us older travelers. There are not any steps to climb. The condo is an end unit and has the wrap around deck. The English Mountain Resort has a pool and sauna.

Several years ago, English Mountain was the home of a prestigious Medical Facility that used the wonderful, mineral springs located just a short distance from the English Mountain Resort to treat their patients. The Doctor that owned the facility claimed the minerals found in the springs were healing for numerous medical conditions that many people suffered from. His patients must have agreed because people would come from all over the Country to English Mountain so that they could soak their bodies in the minerals spring water for health purpose. He had a hotel built so that they could stay on English Mountain for their mineral treatments and enjoy the peace, serenity and solitude of beautiful English Mountain. I don't know if it was the wonderful mineral water or the peaceful English Mountain but people came for years for the healing powers found here. It was popular until the hotel burnt down several years ago and the Doctor chose to retired. This condo has the mineral water. I have always told my guests to turn the water on in the bathtub when they come in and let it run while they unpack their vehicle so that there wouldn't be a smell of the minerals because you can sometimes smell the minerals that are found in the water. If you would like to try the therapy of the mineral water, do not do this and If you happen to get a whiff of a chemical when you are bathing just know that there is not an extra charge and not only are you getting a great bath but it could actually make you feel better. lol

You experience your own beautiful views of the mountains and valleys on the 7 mile drive around and up English Mountain. It is located about 5 miles from Forbidden Caverns. Blowing Cave Road will change into Alpine Drive, but you do not leave the highway until you reach Cove Road and the English Mountain Resort will be located on the left about 150 yards.

If you are seeking peace, seclusion and relaxation this is the perfect place. If you want peace, seclusion, relaxation and enjoy restaurants, shows, sight seeing, etc., this is the perfect place because it is a beautiful drive to anywhere you would want to go. The drive down English Mountain gives you an awesome view of the Mountains, you can see Douglas Lake in the distance, you will pass Blowing Cave Church which is a quaint, charming country church. Forbidden Caverns is a "must see"!. When you leave the caverns, you can catch your own trout at the Trout Restaurant and they will cook it for you. Before you leave Blowing Cave Road, you will see a historical mill that will soon be in operation. If you turn to the right on 411, it will take you to the Bush Bean Restaurant and Museum. If you turn left it will take you on a scenic drive to Sevierville. If you turn left when leaving Cove Road, there are backroads to Carvers Applefarm Restaurant, Gatlinburg, etc., that keeps you away from the tourist traffic.

My husband and I love to take different routes and find the treasures of the Smokies. EXPERIENCE the Smokey Mountains! STAY IN THE MOUNTAINS!!

About Shelby Kilpatrick

I actually traded a condo on Daytona Beach for the peace and tranquility of the Smokey Mountains. My husband and two sons love nature, with the hunting and fishing. They did not hesitate with their opinion of where they had preferred to enjoy their vacations. After our children were grown, my husband and I invested in a few vacation properties. The English Mountain property is my husband's favorite place to be! We both think it soothes our nerves and gives us such a peaceful place to enjoy.

Why Shelby Kilpatrick chose Tennessee

We love the security of staying in a Resort, yet the experiences and enjoyment of living on English Mountain. We love the location and the different routes you can use to travel to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. We find every trip up and down the Mountain, an adventure with the different views and wild life. The highways are all paved and in good condition.

What makes this condo unique

Wr love relaxing on the balcony in our rockers or swings and just absorbing God's creation!

Great Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Main floor adequate space, with a kitchen with small dish washer, a washer and dryer, counter for preparing food and a higher counter for eating at. Also a small table for two. Plenty of dishes, pots and pans and flatware. TV in all rooms, internet and a house phone in case your cell phone doesn't work in the mountains. The unit we rented had a loft which I'd say is best suited for small children. A ladder like steps which were carpeted to prevent slips. A balcony on both sides of condo with chairs, table and a porch swing. Although our grandsons are 4 and 6 they enjoyed the pool but it does start at 5 ft in depth. I found the drive up the mountain pretty, but curvy in spots. If you're going in to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg I'd find something closer. We prefer a quiet, well equipped place just to relax and this would be it. Only con was the bath tub was slippery and they did not have a hair dryer and I forgot to bring mine. The owner was helpful and gave great directions to condo. We followed our GPS and it took us a different route but Shelby's is better if you're coming in from the west side of Knoxville. The uni was clean and everything worked.

Owner's Response: I am glad that I was able to give you VRBO 610684. It is a larger unit than #721. I will provide a blow dryer for my future guests. Thanks for letting me know there was no longer one in the unit. I enjoyed meeting your family and you. Your grandsons were such handsome, young boys! I am glad that you got to spend some quality time with your son and grandsons and they got to spend time with their grandparents. I hope that you visit again soon. Terry and Shelby

Very quiet and beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was very enjoyable. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and was able to stay comfortably. The roads leading up to the condos are a little curvy and steep but our mini van made the trip back and forth to town everyday. If you get a chance stop by the creek and skip a rock or the farmers market and talk to the locals. The cabin had enough pillows towels and blankets. Netflix for the guest too! Pool is big and not too cold or hot. Laundry and trash is easy to take care of too. Would definately stay again in the future!

Owner's Response: Michelle, I am so glad that you'll enjoyed your stay in my condo. I think staying in the Mountains is such a great experience for children. They think they are in a different world and I think it gives parents a break at night and a chance to catch a breath away from the traffic and crowds. It is nice to have a balcony to relax on and a kitchen to fix sandwiches, etc for everyone.I look forward to you visiting again soon. Thanks for choosing my place! Shelby

Quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

My husband, two teenaged children, and I stayed at the English Mountain Condominium four nights. The condo was clean and well stocked. It was a great space for my family. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony each morning as I read in the peace and quiet surroundings. While the drive up to the condo was very beautiful, we weren't prepared for the amount of time it would take us to get up and down the mountain. If you are planning a relaxing vacation, then this is the place for you. If your vacation is more about seeing the sights, then you will need to add extra time to your schedule because the condo is a distance from most local activities. Be sure to visit Bush's Beans, which is within 15 minutes of the condo, and eat a piece of the pinto bean pecan pie. We also enjoyed white water rafting. We had a great visit and our children saw the Great Smokey Mountains for the first time. It was a great vacation! I appreciated the detailed directions the owners gave us. They were very helpful and precise.

Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing out place on English Mountain. Bush Bean Restaurant is a great place to eat and the servings are large and the price is reasonable. I hope your teenagers enjoyed their first trip to the beautiful Smokey Mountains. English Mountain Resort is unique in that it is not in the tourist area of the Smokies. We love the beautiful drive from Sevierville to the English Mountain Resort. I love the beautiful valleys at the base of English Mountain. Traveling US 411N to Blowing Cave Road has a majestic view of Fox Valley at the base of English Mountain and traveling 339 to Wilhite Road gives you a little bit of the history of the area with the old barns, houses, etc. that are located in the valleys before you start up Alpine Drive. Thanks for selecting my property and I do hope you return again soon. Shelby

If you are looking for a nice quite vacation this is a great place to stay. The complex is a little out dated, but nice.

Quiet and remote

  • 3 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay on English Mountain. Remote and quiet with all the comforts of home. We had to take all our own cleaning products for dishes etc. as well as paper towels and toilet paper which was very inconvenient. And even though linens were provided there were barely enough towels . We stayed just four nights and washed towels twice. Good thing I brought extra laundry products!

Owner's Response: I am glad that you enjoyed your time on English Mountain. My place being a condo instead of a hotel, you do not have daily linen or towel service. Some condos does not have a washer and dryer in the unit, but the one I upgraded you to, did. I will need to include in my information sheet the need to bring extra paper towels, bathroom paper.dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent and remind the guests the need to bring their own toiletries when renting unit 1012. Thanks for your review and I hope you'll return soon.

Serenity Peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Extremely peaceful and quiet; very detached but close enough. Owner was very responsive and helpful. I was in the area preaching at a church 15 miles away, and VERY MUCH enjoyed this much more than a typical hotel, and economical compared to other options. Unless you plan to be going back and forth to attractions/events bring groceries with you and you will be all set. The drive up the mountain is really something else but all developed and paved; I enjoyed it every time. I will return again and again. You MUST try the Trount Farm Reataurant five miles down like going back to Maberry; they have chicken, burgers, dogs, and incredible sides also. And you must eat lunch a the Bush Bean Cafe, located at their free museum, seven miles away; good fresh food, service, and economical, but only for lunch Mon-Sat. Bob P
