Soulless place with no soap
Pros: dark and quiet location. No lights or noise to bother you at night. Drive to place is beautiful. Lots of room in house.
Cons: no WiFi; unnecessary checkin stress. The key was hidden on the property, but not communicated ahead of time. We were expected to call the owner 48 hours ahead of time to arrange our arrival. Being we are from overseas, this was not that easy, plus i missed that instruction in the PDF instructions. Luckily a neighbor down the road was home and called the owners sister in the next village who came by and showed us where the key was. There is no mobile service in the area so we couldn’t call the owner or emergency contact on the PDF I had printed out. The PDF said a pub and restaurant were nearby but with no WiFi or cell service we couldn’t find it and GPS was no use due to no cell service. We (family of four) went to bed hungry that night. He showers water was slightly warm at best. Here was no soap or shampoo so in addition to driving back toward Civilization for breakfast we also had to but soap. Ther were no tips of instructions provided so we had to figure everything out on our own. We were on a two week vacation form the USA. His was the only property we stayed at in Ireland d where this was the case. The property is managed by a firm in the U.K. which I didn’t realize until after I booked it. This was the lowlight of our several prieperties we stayed at in Ireland. We left early and stayed at a B&B near he coast after a couple nights.
Peace and quiet in a wonderful house.
My family of four stayed for the week and loved it. Plenty of peace and quiet, easy drive to wonderful locations, and all the comforts. The owners were very kind and thoughtful and made sure that we were looked after. We hope to make it back one day soon!
