Beautiful house and wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

We, 2 adults and 3 teen's, had a wonderful stay in Alcudia. The house was exactly as we expected - spacious and clean. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed being on both terraces.

The area was quiet. The house was very close to the beautiful and autentic Alcudia old town. But within a little walk - half an hour - we could reach Alcudia Port and the beach. But first and foremost we had a very nice hostess who did everything to make our stay pleasant Thank you so much, sweetest Tonja.

Great location, quiet but close enough to walk to beach, shops & cafes etc

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with the whole family, two children (3&5 year olds) and grandparents. Great fun was had by all and the kids loved playing in the garden which is safely gated from the road. We did a lot of pool lounging and had a couple of bbq's but we also spent time exploring the lovely walled town of Alcudia which is close enough for even small kids to walk to. There are also playgrounds nearby.

Overall it was a holiday which suited all generations and remember to ask for the spare key so you don't have to try and arrange a meeting time if you do go off in different directions!

Tonja was great at sorting anything out for us. She stayed respectfully at a distance but was immediately to hand if we had any questions, queries or requests.

The only thing was, there is just one bathroom. There is an outdoor shower though and we worked around it easily enough but it can be sometimes hard to hurry a small child along if someone else needs it!

I would stay here again and I would absolutely recommend it to my friends.

Thank you Tonja!

Schöne Unterkunft ruhig gelegen

  • 4 of 5

Super Familen Urlaub

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

gepflegtes Haus

  • 4 of 5

The vibrant city of Alcúdia, located in the north of the island, offers cultural events and attractions throughout the year, from which you can enjoy the different seasons. Just one kilometer away, also lies the small resort Port d'Alcúdia, ideal for exploring and discovering part of the Majorcan tradition, without having to go too far place.

Which was once a small sleepy town, Alcúdia has become a meeting place thanks to its historical treasures and cultural interest. Here we offer all the information you need to discover this fascinating walled city. Today it is hard to imagine that this vibrant city ever was at risk of being totally abandoned. Fortunately, the construction of a port 1779 Alcúdia saved a decline.

The historic center has been renovated without losing any of its charm. What were once busy streets have been converted into a large pedestrian area, which invites you to stroll through this city.

Top Attractions in Alcudia

The pedestrian area offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafés with beautiful terraces and cozy patios, craft shops, boutiques and Mallorcan specialties. Stroll through the various medieval houses, town hall and houses Señorales calls, the stately homes of nobles. Walking through the streets you can see some of the shaded courtyards of these houses while it gets closer to the wall.

This ancient area is also the protagonist of a unique experience that never fails to sorpender visitors and residents. During the summer months, the walled city becomes the setting for different outdoor concerts and theatrical performances. The different musical styles ranging from classical music to jazz love medieval attendees and history of Alcudia is the central theme of the plays. Dressed in period costumes, the actors give new life to the key characters in the history of Alcúdia and Mallorca. No cover charge and the program can pick up at the tourist office.

Activities in Alcúdia

You can not miss the famous outdoor market in Alcudia. Every Tuesday and Sunday there are two main sections: one is dedicated to local producers and the other is where you find all kinds of products from shoes to bags, jewelry, clothing and, of course, souvenirs.

The smallest Roman Amphitheatre in Spain is located in Alcudia. A kilometer south of the city towards the port is part of the Roman city of Pollentia. also houses the forum and the houses of La Portella and was used as a necropolis during Roman times. You can see some of the ancient tombs from the steps of the theater.

Pollentia was a perfectly planned city, complete with a temple and taverns numerpsas. If you are interested in history, you will find archaeological excavations in this fascinating city. You can pick up a map at the tourist office located in the pedestrian area.

If you would like more information about the restoration of the historical center of Alcudia, you can join the free guided tour, which takes place every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00. The starting point is the church.

Alcudia also offers several activities for those who enjoy sport: the city is an ideal place to go climbing or take a bicycle tour in the mountains surrounding the town site. All kinds of water sports can be done in Puerto de Alcudia, located about a kilometer away from the city center.

The excellent 18-hole golf Alcanada Golf Club, owned by the famous Porsche family, is just 15 minutes away from the city, east of the port. Without a doubt, it is one of the best golf courses in Europe. Alcanada is located in a privileged environment with spectacular views of the bay.

It's Barcarés

Es Barcarés describes a small inlet in front of an islet. It is one of those timeless places where one has the feeling that time passes slowly. In this small cove there are small little beaches of varied composition. Interestingly, the largest of these beaches of nearly 100 meters remains almost always solitary. It is one of the sides the place chosen by bathers. Just a small jetty and a couple of little coves of huge stones. This discreet and at the same time modest place is one of the most frequented by the Alcudians, perhaps because this was the beach where generation after generation the Alcudians met to refresh themselves from the rigors of summer and spend the day. And so it has remained in the collective subconscious, especially of the elderly of the place.

Beach humble but with a special charm and above all with the flavor of local tradition.
