Large newly built luxury property with superb views of Kintail, close to Skye

Bedrooms 6
Space 4,305 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

Ideally situated for the super walking and water sports in Kintail and Skye

The house is recently built and extremely well appointed. It faces south onto the delightfully secluded Loch Long. There is plenty of opportunity for walking, sailing, fishing, kayaking and other outdoor activities directly from the front door and in the immediate area. For greater variety the isle of Skye is only 30 minutes away by car.

The property is large (380m2) and comprises a master bedroom suite, two further double bedrooms and a twin bedroom (on the ground floor) all with luxurious en-suite facilities, as well as a double and a twin room sharing a large bathroom. There is a spacious and well equipped kitchen/diner, a separate dining/sitting room with seating for 12 people, a large sitting room and a huge games room with seating and a table tennis table. For outdoor enthusiasts there is a boot room to store your equipment and a separate drying room. Most bedrooms and the main living areas benefit from the amazing views.

Outside there is a huge south facing patio area with tables and seating for 12 which enjoys extensive loch and mountain views in all directions. The hillside garden contains additional secluded seating areas and extends to approximately 3 acres. At the side and back of the house there is ample parking space.

All the usual facilities are contained within the house, including dishwasher, washing machine, TV, DVD player and DVDs, WiFi, books, games etc.

All photos are of the house or taken directly from the house....and I didn't have to stand on tip toes and stick my arms up in the air to get them!

About Ged Elliott

This is our family home and the place for our eventual retirement. It has been carefully equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings and some personal touches. We currently live in London and look forward to the day when we leave all that behind and enjoy the space and seclusion of the Scottish Highlands.

Ged Elliott purchased this house in 2016

Why Ged Elliott chose Kyle

The house was bought solely on the basis of the views! It wasn't really what we were looking for in terms of size but the location is just amazing. We do of course love the local area and hope that you do too.

What makes this house unique

The glen is a thriving community enjoying relatively easy access to shops and local facilities. Go the other way though and you enter one of the great wilderness areas left in Scotland. High snowy mountains, beautiful lochs and remote pathways to glorious waterfalls. Look up to the skies and spot both types of eagle; watch the otters playing in the loch and sometimes joined by a porpoise or two, or just gaze at the super bright Milky Way. It certainly isn't London!

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a very good time at your very beautiful and comfortable house. We will recommend it to anyone who will visit your beautiful country.

Amazing house & stunning views

  • 5 of 5

Booked this spacious house for a long weekend in April. The views from the house were great sunrise to sunset.

Location was ideal for cycling and hill walking in the surrounding area - including Skye.

Directions and access to house was simple. House was very clean. Prompt and clear communication with owner pre and post trip.

Spacious and remote luxury pad

  • 5 of 5

Driving up on the worst weather day of the year wasn't too clever a start, but it was well worth the effort. A large (very!) house a good distance from the neighbours in an absolutely stunning location. Kitchen was well equipped for catering for a large group, and the general facilities were very good. The rooms were big giving plenty of space, and the large windows kept it very light. Boot and drying rooms much appreciated too.

Plenty of luxury to wallow in after a day on the hill.

Owner's Response: I am so pleased not only that you made it but that you enjoyed the house. I was definitely a bit worried about you driving up on the first day. Once that I knew you were there I was very jealous as it must have looked lovely 😁 Gerard

Great place for New Year with old friends

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with 3 other couples, plus kids, over New Year. What a perfect way to bring in 2018. The views are stunning, lots of local walks for all abilities ( we had serious climbers amongst us, plus babies who needed to be carried), and the Well-equipped kitchen and dining room were ideal for us to create a special new year meal. We loved it. Thanks

Owner's Response: Thanks, Nick, for the great review. It's always a relief when people enjoy the house as much as we do! We love cooking and it is such a pleasure to have all the space for it up there that we have tended to stock the kitchen with good quality equipment.

Owner's Response: Hi Kree, So pleased that you enjoyed your stay over Christmas and that you appreciated the lovely views. It sounds like I should be adding more photos to the website to show the views off to their best advantage! I imagine that you saw your fair share of "weather" rolling up the glen! Ged

A wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

I don't want to sound like I'm moaning but the overall cleanliness was a little less than I had expected. Personally, I slept in the bedroom above the front door, and on arrival I found a dirty tissue hanky under the head of the bed, very obvious as it struck me as soon as I came in. There were other areas that suggested a little bit of good old fashioned cleaning would be appreciated. In addition the taps in the en suite that I used were very loose, and the plug in the sink didn't seal until I tightened it up.

Moaning over, what an amazing location, could not think of more spectacular scenery. The property itself is lovely, well equipped although a mirror in all bedrooms would be useful, and very comfortable in all rooms. Plenty of room if a bit of quiet time was needed. All in all a lovely week despite the weather not being what we ordered!! Thanks and sorry for the moans.
