Why Peter W. Dolley chose Kennebec

My grandparents built a seasonal camp on this location in the early 1960's. At that time it was all family that lived in the cove, my grandfather and grandmother's sisters families were neighbors. Webber Pond has always been sentimental to me ever since I was a kid and spent summers camping here.

What makes this house unique

*Compare with area rentals that charge $1,500-$1,700 per week for a similar rental in addition to a delivery fee and a large security deposit.

Perfect-immaculate cabin, fishing, canoeing, bald eagles, kayaks, close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Pete's Retreat. He thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable and home-like as possible. It was spotless when we arrived and he had the air conditioner on so it was comfortable. We arrived late at night and the porch light was on, with solar light decorations in the yard.

The beds were incredibly comfortable. Every convenience imaginable in a cabin was present, including wifi and cable.

We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing. Our 11 year old son fished for hours every day. A bald eagle sat above our heads watching us fish, then dove down for a treat in front of us. Everyone on the lake was friendly. The neighboring cabin was closer than we thought and full with a large multi-family get away, but they were really great. They offered us firewood our first night there and later invited the kids over for an outdoor movie shown on a big screen on the house.

Outside of the activities at the cabin, it was only a one hour drive to Bangor. It was also only a two hour drive to the Mt. Washington Auto Road-very accessible to different places in any direction. We could go away for a few hours and still have plenty of time to enjoy the nature at the cabin.

Thank you for this opportunity and sharing your home.

This cabin was such a GREAT place to stay.

We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The cabin was awesome . The lake was such a great place to watch a variety of birds. Paddling boarding and kayaking was enjoyed by us and little buttercup ( really cute rescue dog). Thank you Peter!

3's a charm!

  • 5 of 5

This is the 3rd year in a row we have rented Pete's wonderful retreat! It's always a total relaxation for us! We used to live in Maine, (now in PA) about 45 minutes from this cabin, and it's nicely located to all conveniences BUT it's far enough away to be so quiet. We so enjoy that, even if it's occasionally interrupted by the call of a loon (which we also love!). Can't say enough good about how well equipped this cabin is and that Pete keeps it so nice for everyone and is so welcoming. Thanks so much and looking forward to another summer! We wished we didn't have to go back to PA as this really felt like home!
