Villa Giotto is in a prime position for exploring all that Tuscany has to offer, set on the top of a hill it boasts stunning 360 degree views, you can see the sunrise at the front of the villa, enjoy the sun in the garden all day and watch the sunset at the rear of the villa (glass of wine optional). Thanks to the 3 large patio doors in the living/kitchen area the amazing views can also be seen from inside the villa.
The villa is part of an old Borgo called Collevicchi that has been re-built in a traditional Tuscan style but has modern facilities, the Borgo is made up of just 10 individual properties (6 apartments and 4 semi detached villas). Entry to the Borgo is via a private road that serves the Borgo, the Agriturismo Santa Vittoria and one other private villa, remote controlled gates allow access to Borgo Collevicchi and there is plenty of parking available within the fully landscaped grounds
The Villa has two double bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a Queen sized bed, a double wardrobe, dressing table, mirror and large patio doors that open onto the front garden. Bedroom 2 has two single beds that can be pushed together if necessary, a double wardrobe, dressing table, mirror and two sets of large patio doors that open onto the front and side garden. Also the large lounge has a triple sofa that converts into a comfortable double bed. Freshly laundered bed sheets, towels and bath towels are included in the cost of your stay.
The bedrooms and lounge are all fully air-conditioned for comfort in the hot summer months (reversible to provide additional heating in the winter) and there is a Gas Central Heating system for the winter months.
There are two well equipped tiled bathrooms, both have a shower, large washbasin and vanity unit with two large drawers, toilet, bidet and heated towel rail.
The fully equipped kitchen/diner has an oven, gas hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer, in the utility room is a top loading washing machine, cleaning equipment, vacuum cleaner, an ironing board and iron, there is also storage for sunbeds (x 4 provided) etc.
Outside to the rear of the property there is a large (55sq Metres) newly constructed south facing terrace, to the side of the property is a smaller covered terrace for scenic breakfasts. The rest of the large garden is made up of paths and lawned areas. Breath-taking views can be seen from all three sides of the private garden and are second to none.
The large salt water swimming pool is approximately 20 Metres away from the villa (a one minute walk) and is open from the end of May to the end of September, the pool also offers spectacular panoramic views from its terrace.
For those that must remain in touch, Wi-Fi is available throughout the villa and around the pool area, although due to the infrastructure of the Italian internet system it is more for social media and catching up with emails than for playing games etc.
The nearest restaurant is just 200 Metres away - the wonderful Agriturismo Santa Vittoria, they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on most days, guests at the villa have the opportunity to book in at their restaurant (early booking is recommended as the restaurant is extremely popular with the locals as well) and sample their delicious local specialities (most of the ingredients are produced/reared on their farm/land) and they source and supply fabulous local wines.
Just 15 minutes drive away (on one road) is the fabulous Etruscan city of Volterra (said to be the inspiration for the Twilight films and series) which has many excellent restaurants to choose from and plenty of shops for retail therapy.
The nearest supermarket is just 10 minutes drive away (towards Volterra), there is also is a much larger supermarket just through the town.
Being positioned in the centre of Tuscany, the fabulous cities of Florence, Siena, Pisa (City and Airport) are well within 1 hours drive, whilst Lucca is slightly over an hour away. The very popular San Gimignano is around 20 minutes drive away and the nearest coast Cecina is around 40 minutes drive.
There are many vineyards nearby that are open to the public for wine tasting and tours and most have food available too.
