About the property

Feel part of the beautiful coast, sea and quiet countryside in this unique and charming design villa facing south, air-conditioned with infinity heated pool, near the village of the south coast of Prazeres and 6 km from the sea.

Surrounded by a peaceful landscape with panoramic views of the coast and the ocean, it is a very private villa and only 6 km from the sea, this beautiful, recent, contemporary villa, with air conditioning, heated pool and barbecue area, has all conditions and everything for a great vacation.

Built from an old stone barn, it was designed and decorated, inside and out, personally by the young couple of architects who own the house. It is an open house full of natural light. The living room and kitchen is an especially nice sitting area with large sliding glass windows that open onto the solarium and pool, and makes it have a direct relationship with the exterior and surroundings.

You will love the dining experience on the outdoor terrace or swim in the infinity pool while enjoying these wonderful views.

The open space of the living and dining area, blends contemporary and 50's furniture, and offers seating for 6 people on two leather sofas and a dining table for 6.

Large glass windows can be opened to bring the outside, widening the opening with the south facing terrace to the deck and pool solarium.

The kitchen is also part of the open space and is fully equipped with crockery and utensils, with 4 rings cooker, built-in electric oven and microwave, combined refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster and magic wand.

There is an additional social bathroom and utility room with washing machine.

The three bedrooms are double and have a private bathroom.

One bedroom is located on the ground floor. The other two on the first floor, and share a large balcony facing south.

This villa has a terrace area and outdoor barbecue table and chairs, leading to the herb garden and lawn, which surrounds the infinity pool and solarium.

The Infinity Pool with 7m X 2.6m with maximum depth of 1.40m, environmentally friendly salt water treatment.

The pool heating is optional and has a weekly supplement of € 120 for 24ºC.

For higher temperatures, there is a supplement of 30 € per week for each ºC above 24ºC, up to a maximum of 26ºC.

Cleaning and linen change is provided every 7 days and all linen and towels are provided, including towels for the pool.

During the season, guests are free to pick fruit from two fig trees that give the house its name. The owners have also planted a herb garden that guests can use for tea infusions or cooking.

A bread van passes through the villa daily in the morning, and guests can purchase fresh bread and pastries or make a daily order - perfect for panoramic breakfasts.

There is internet and cable TV, and a fire detection system throughout the villa, for added convenience and safety of guests.

There is parking inside the lot for two cars. A rental car is recommended.

 The village of Prazeres is 1,600 meters (1 mile) away, where you can find local cafes and restaurants, a supermarket, and the medical center.

At a distance of 2.0 km, by the large roundabout that gives access to the motorway and highway system, there is a supermarket, cafe / bakery, next to this there is an ATM. Across the roundabout with coffee at the gas station and a couple of restaurants.

The nearest pharmacy is in the village of Strait of Calheta, just 5 minutes by car (3 km).

A few minutes drive will take you to the tourist area of ​​Calheta, 6 km from the Villa. With its artificial golden beaches, it is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a good choice of bars and restaurants, a handful of small shops, a supermarket with everything you could need, a bank and pharmacy.

Calheta is famous for producing the best white rum 'Aguardente de Cana de açucar', a special ingredient of the typical Madeiran drink 'Poncha'. If you are interested in how white rum is made, we recommend a tour of the 'Engenho da Calheta' to the rum distillery where you can walk around and taste the products.

Arts Center "Casa da Mudas" is situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and was built to welcome excellent art exhibitions, musical performances and other events.

A 15-minute drive to the east is Ribeira Brava, the largest city before Funchal, and it offers a rocky beach and access facilities to the sea, plus a large supermarket and more shops, cafes and restaurants.

The capital, Funchal, is a 50-minute drive from the motorway. Well worth a visit to the main points.

The airport is easily accessible, about 60 minutes by car.

Casa da Figueira is licensed according to the relevant tourist authorities, and has a rural tourism accommodation permit such as "Casa de Campo" (5004)

The weekly supplement for heating the pool is € 120 to heat at 24ºC. This is payable in cash upon arrival.

If you need a warmer temperature, there is a supplement of € 30 per week for each ºC, up to a maximum of 26ºC.

lovely house in quiet place

We had a wonderful stay here. Villa is very comfortable and spacious, large terrace a nice heated pool. Each bedroom with en-suite bathroom is very comfy.

Neighbourhood is very quiet, close to Calheta, where you can find all you need. Location is great for levada 's trips, only few minutes and you can reach the trails. We would love to come again!

Tolle Unterkunft mit Top-Ausstattung

7 Tage durften wir im September 2018 in dieser tollen Unterkunft verbringen. Die Küche ist in tadellosem Zustand und die Zimmer entsprechen exakt den Bildern in der Fotoshow. Zudem kann jedes einzelne Zimmer bis auf 15 Grad runtergekühlt werden. Die Grillstelle war voll mit Holz gefüllt und der Pool sauber. Den Pool auf 26 Grad zu heizen empfehlen wir. Der Supermarkt Pingo Dolce ist in ca. 10-15 Autominuten zu erreichen. Ansonsten kann man einfach die Aussicht aufs Meer geniessen. Einzig zu bemängeln ist, dass eine Stromleitung die "volle" Sicht auf das offene Meer etwas beschränkt. Die benachbarten Villen sind zirka 50 Meter entfernt, sodass man problemlos die Musik nach Belieben aufdrehen kann. Zudem sorgen hohe Hecken dafür, dass eine Sicht aufs Gelände unmöglich ist. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Fantastisches Haus mit Pool und Superblick nähe Calheta, Madeira

Top Ferienhaus mit fantastischem Blick über die Küste und das Meer. Tolle Einrichtung, super Design, zu jedem (!) Schlafzimmer gibt es ein extra Bad mit Dusche - sehr praktisch! Toller Pool den wir jeden Tag mehrfach geniessen konnten. In der Nähe schöne Wander- und Bademöglichkeiten.
