|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
This one bedroom cottage is set into a hillside overlooking a beautiful meadow. Located off West Side Rd., right next to Gracie's Cove Rd., this charming cottage offers privacy and an awesome night view of the constellations.
It's a short 10 minute walk to Gracie's Cove beach where the seasonal sunsets will surely sooth the soul, or you can stroll the beach to find your one of a kind heart shaped rock or various unique pieces of driftwood. You might even see a seal.
There are several hiking trails nearby. All a part of Block Island's Greenway Trail System.
The cottage is located about 2 1/2 miles from the downtown area, so if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is where you will find it. Downtown is only a 7 minute car ride or 20 minutes by bike.
The cottage offers one bedroom with a queen size bed, closet and bureau plus a sitting room with two chairs and table on the walk out level. On the main floor is the full kitchen, bathroom with shower, living room and dining area.
This is a small cottage with about 450 sq. ft. of living space. The stairs leading from the bedroom area to the second floor are a little steep and may not be ideal for those with hip or leg issues. Perfect for one person or a couple who enjoy spending close time together.
There is also a great south facing deck (8'x15') with a new gas grill, small table, two chairs and a wooden bench seat. Also enjoy the picnic table under a tree, two "Zero Gravity" chairs, a hammock, horseshoe pit, hot and cold outdoor shower or, throw a stick or ball as far as you can and see if your dog brings it back (silly dogs).
For those of you who like quiet times, nature, beautiful scenery, the constellations, walking the beach, or watching the sunsets, we promise you won't be disappointed.
There is a very large yard area (2+ acres).
Bring a good book, your journal, paints, guitar, or just your thoughts and relax in an old fashioned, Block Island style way.
We welcome you. Please make yourself at home and enjoy your stay.
Me and my husband spend a week at this charming block island home. We thought the kitchen was well equipped and laid out. My husband loved the gas stove! It is a bit short on storage so, I would recommend bringing some reuse able bags to keep items in.
Awesome outdoor shower! The best part of the day was coming back from the beach and taking an outdoor shower! Close to town and marinas. My dog lunch, loved running in the yard and chasing her frisbee. All in all it was a great week!! Allen was very helpful w. Information and answered questions promptly.
I had never stayed at Block Island before and found this to be the perfect place for me and my dogs. Nearby Grace's cove beach was their playground, as was the spacious back yard. The cottage was cozy and the outdoor shower, deck and grill a special treat. Wifi, direct TV and AC kept me comfortable and connected. I would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely peaceful place to stay!!
My husband and I were looking for a small cottage that was private and quiet and that would accept our two small dogs. We found the perfect place! About fifteen minutes from the center of town and even closer to a vast assortment of trails and beaches; yet once we drove down the cottage driveway we were away from everything. Surrounded by green fields and woods, we could sit on the deck and eat our fresh fish cooked on the grill. (Outstanding!). The cottage is exactly the right size for two. It is equipped with all necessary appliances including wifi. The fully enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower was an unexpected bonus :}
Alan is a fantastic host. He is helpful, friendly and available at all times and made us feel like we were old friends.
If you are looking for "serenity now" and a genuine break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place to be.
Without a doubt we will return.

My boyfriend and I rented this cottage for 8 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. I've been going to Block Island for many years and this was the first time I rented a place on the west side of the island. Being on the west side you have a nice mix because you are near lots of farms and trails but still close to the beach. The cottage itself is very cute and is updated with new appliances and a brand new outdoor grill which was fantastic. My favorite part was the outdoor shower which was also newly built (and quite big!). There was also a stereo and hook up to play our music so at cocktail hour we often turned on our music and had a glass of wine outside in the yard. We also played many games of horseshoes out there. I highly recommend the walk/run along the west side that goes from Grace's Cove Rd (right next to the cottage) to Dorry's Cove Rd. It's very scenic and peaceful. There are also some neat trails that you can walk to off of Beacon Hill Rd. and Old Mill Rd. Alan was extremely helpful and responsive to all our questions. He makes the extra effort and you can tell he definitely wants his guests to enjoy their stay. We will be back!
