This vacation rental home is in the cultural and entertainment heart of downtown St. John's-- facing picturesque JellybeanRow; and, historic Signal Hill and harbour a short distance away. This 2 story 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is in mint condition, fully furnished with all kitchen and dining amenities. Hardwood floors throughout. A large country style kitchen with cherry oak cabinets leads to an enclosed garden area which receives full sunshine. Gas BBQ and lawn and deck furniture included. An over size master bedroom with private balcony and en-suite with a whirlpool tub is in the top back. The second bedroom overlooks King's Road-- which is busy with people and not so many cars. Linens included. Wall mounted television with 165 Channels from Bell Aliant as well as free internet/WiFi. One visitor parking pass [on street parking] included; non-restricted parking is across the street. Lots of shops, restaurants, theatres and bars nearby.

Just Perfect

83 Kings Road was all it promised to be and more. The house is nicely decorated, well maintained and equipped. The location is ideal, in the heart of the "jelly bean" houses, and one can walk to all the attractions in St. John's. We would certainly stay this home again when we return.

The Best of the Best😍😍

A truly wonderful home, in the heart of St John's. Within walking distance of some excellent restaurants, boutigue shopping and sites.

This home came equipped with all the necessities you will need, items I have never seen in other rentals, spices, paper towels, tea, jam just to menton a few.

From the minute we walked in til we left it felt like home. Doug, one of the owners answered all my questions before our stay and was fantastic to deal with.

I can see parking maybe an issue if you had more then one vechile, but parking in downtown anywhere is an issue.

I highly recommend this property, and hope to rent again in the near future.

Thank you Doug for making our stay so wonderful.

Could Not Have Found a Better Place to Stay

I stayed here with a friend on an extended girls' weekend. We found the house to be immaculately clean, charming and warm. The location is fantastic and within easy walking distance of restaurants, pubs and attractions. St. John's is a lovely and friendly city and I can't wait to return with my husband. We will definitely be booking this house when that happens. Thanks so much!

A perfect place to stay

This place was in a perfect location for our stay in St. John's . It was within walking distance of all the shops and pubs. We stayed as 2 couples and it was so perfect. Well stocked with anything you may need. Very homey! We didn't want to leave. I highly recommend it.

Downtown St. John's is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and small-town charm. As the oldest and most easterly city in North America, this is where heritage lives. Melded with culture, history, and personality, St. John's has survived two World Wars, five centuries, countless hardships and triumphs. The place has become a rare, old city full of character, experience and charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge.

Wander down the narrow, criss-crossing streets carved by horse and carriage over 100 years ago. Pass the colourful jellybean row houses wedged together in every space lining the sides of steep hills and hidden alleyways. Once you've meandered down to the working harbour of the waterfront, look towards the Narrows and imagine a time when the waters were brimming full with fishing schooners. St. John's is apparently the largest protected harbour in the world-- full details at the Johnson Geo Centre on Signal Hill, an 18 minute mostly uphill walk from 83 King's Road.

Visit Quidi Vidi, our charming village-within-a-city, which still embodies the spirit of an old fishing outport. It is a reasonable walk from King's Road. You can have an informal beer on the deck at the lovely Quidi Vidi brewery, or a meal at the Mallard Cottage. [Phone reservations recommended-- it's very popular.]

From Quidi Vidi, you can hike up nearby Signal Hill, or return to St. John's harbour and walk through the famous Battery, where tiny wooden homes still cling valiantly to cliffsides ravaged by ocean waves. From the Battery you can access a remarkable seaside trail which will take you up to the iconic Cabot Tower guarding the top of Signal Hill. Here, Marconi famously received his first transmission across the Atlantic in 1901. Look out over the cliffs and watch the city's harbour and captivating skyline spread out before you. It is also possible to walk from the Battery to the top of Signal Hill by Road, and walk the trail down. A taxi to the top from King's Road would cost maybe $10.

Perched on the horizon is The Rooms, home to our provincial museum, art gallery and archives, standing next to the striking twin clock towers of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. The Rooms has a wonderful restaurant with what may be the best harbour view in the world! And this is just a few minutes walk from the front door of King's Road.

As you explore the history of this place, shop at the many fine boutiques, shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs, and art galleries lining our streets.

In the evening, sit back, relax, and enjoy live music or local theatre where actors will whisk you away to another place and time. Be sure to look at lamp post posters for different events-- sometimes the most intriguing events are hard to find on the internet.

For nightlife excitement, head to the famous George Street. Here, clubs, pubs, bars, and restaurants are stacked and crammed. Every evening, George Street blazes with energy, especially during the George Street Festival – five days and nights of dynamic musical entertainment.
