The Redfish House is a beautiful waterfront home located on the Steinhatchee River near the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. Completed in 2009, this multi-story home with a river view is great for family groups and friends.
The accommodations include three bedrooms and three baths and can sleep up to 9 people. The master bedroom is upstairs, has a very comfortable king bed and opens up to the porch with a view of the Steinhatchee River. The master bath has both a shower and a freestanding tub. Also upstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with a single/double bunk bed; those rooms share a full bath.
For extra guests, a trundle bed is provided in the den on the first floor. A third bathroom is just off the den.
With front porches/balconies on two levels and also a back porch/balcony, guests are able to relax, enjoy the river view and watch the boats come in. There is a private parking garage on the ground level.
You will also have access to the gazebo on the river and the docks, and your rental comes with not one but two private boat slips! And since the house is right near the mouth of the river and the newe community boat ramp, you'll be in the Gulf in no time at all!
Steinhatchee is a small fishing village in the Big Bend area of Florida known for the excellent summertime scalloping and year-round fishing for trout, redfish, seabass, grouper and more. One of the unspoiled areas of Florida, Steinhatchee abounds with ambiance and offers a taste of 'Old Florida'. The Steinhatchee area is known as 'Florida's Scallop Capital,' as the Gulf waters make an ideal habitat for these delicious shellfish. It's a perfect getaway for any reason!

Very nice house and perfect location. Great time scalloping and visiting with friends. The house was in need of some minor maintence. The upstairs a/c didn't work very well, oven had some issues, and none of the exterior plugs worked. Emily was very accessible.
To begin, you can't beat the location of the Redfish house. The house sits alone in what appears to be a subdivision that never got going so you have plenty of space and parking. It is close, but not too close, to the boat ramp and a short walk from the Sea Hag marina. The private dock, with two assigned slips, can't be beat. If I had to find a negative, it would be that there is no wifi in the house. I have stayed in 3 different properties managed by Emily and have always had a great stay. I have also stayed in properties around Steinhatchee managed by others with differing results, some good some bad. Emily's properties always seem to be a step, or several steps, above the others. Thanks for a great stay, and we can't wait to come back next year.
The house is beautiful. We loved the porches. The view is great. Docking is perfect. We stayed with our children and grandchildren. It was perfect to keep the baby in while the others were scalloping. Even the scallops were plentiful. The only thing not perfect was the weather but we were able to get some scalloping in between the thunderstorms, then watch them roll in from the cover of the porch. Would love to do it again this week.
