The house is conveniently located close enough to walk to the amenities of the village which include a small supermarket and Depot du pain (for the all important daily bread!) a cafe/restaurant, butcher, pharmacie and tabac/presse.
Recently renovated to the owners high standard, Lucy's hideaway accommodates two adults (plus a baby or child) in a large, stylish upstairs double bedroom, with beautiful en-suite shower room and double aspect windows overlooking the private courtyard and terrace below. A characterful oak staircase descends to a well designed, charming living space, including a well equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a dining area and a relaxing lounge area offer UK free to air English TV channels and a DVD player and of course the essential Wi-Fi. This room opens out onto the outside courtyard where you will discover a sunny terrace space suitable for al-fresco dining, a morning coffee or quiet time reading a book. In addition to the dining space, there is a spacious grassy area beyond for lounging in the sun and barbecuing (safe and enclosed if your dog joins you). All tucked away in a private courtyard.
Close to the main attractions of the area, this new holiday accommodation is the perfect base for exploring the region. Under 30 minutes drive from the property: Venarey les Laumes is your practical go-to town for grocery shopping and fuel, plus other handy shops. The beautiful village of Flavigny sur Ouzerain, a must-see hill top delight famed for the film 'Chocolat' starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp enjoys a quintessential french charm and is just 15 minutes away. The historic town of Semur en Auxois has amazing ramparts and medieval architecture, and The not-to-be-missed 13th Century world famed U.N.E.S.C.O Abbaye de Fontenay is a real star of the area. The Canal de Bourgogne is great for walking and slowing down the pace also within a short drive. Slightly further afield is the majestic city of Dijon with it's deep history, superb shopping, Duke's palace and a fantastic indoor market, a masterpiece of metal and glass designed by Eiffel. Prestigious Beaune, The capital of Burgundy's wine industry and the perfect place for a day trip, which must be sure to include a tasting and a look around the Hospice de Beaune, founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rodin. Lucy's hideaway is perfect base for exploring all that Burgundy has to offer from the local cheeses of the village markets to the prestigious wineries and Chateaux.
