About the property

Charming 4 Bedroom, 3 Bath Home with Spectacular Hudson River Views

This is a lovely riverfront home, decorated in a feng shui style to frame all the natural light and river views from most every window. A beautiful mix of original wide plank pine flooring, moldings and interesting nooks and quiet places gives our home a charm you will feel from the moment you enter our property. Our home offers 4 bedrooms(3 upstairs; 1 on the main level) and 3 full bathrooms. We can accommodate 8 overnight guests(7 adults and 1 child). The dining room seats 8 comfortably and is nicely situated between the kitchen and living room. We have a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 burner stainless gas range, stainless refrigerator and dishwasher, microwave and toaster oven. Cable Television and WiFi are provided.

The first floor bedroom is oriented toward the river, it's just off the porch, and has a queen size sofa sleeper, its own television and a full private bathroom. The master bedroom is on the second floor, faces the river, has a queen size bed, lots of closet space and its own newly renovated bathroom. Another bedroom on the second floor also faces the river and has a queen size bed. There is a full bathroom, just newly renovated, which is in the upstairs hallway with a shower/tub combo.

Our wrap around screened porch is great for gathering and outdoor enjoyment and has a wonderful view of the river. The side yard offers summer afternoon shade for a barbeque and the lower deck provides riverside outdoor seating as well as full access to river frontage for your kayaking, swimming or canoeing activities.

You and your guests will find plenty of quiet places to read a book, play a game or catch up with friends and family. Super cozy house in a wonderful spot!

  • 5 of 5

Here with the family for a wedding at a nearby house on the river. We could not have been more comfortable. The house is well-appointed, charming and spotlessly clean. Truly awesome river views and a cute little yard with a great swing. Angela was super helpful and friendly. Top-notch rental experience all around! Highly recommended!

Great family gathering spot!

  • 5 of 5

Clean, spacious, attractive, and comfortable space. Though we did not have a reason to contact her, Angela made sure we knew she was available. Beautiful location in the Hudson River Valley overlooks the river with interesting boat traffic and views of the eastern shore of the river all enjoyed from a fabulous deck halfway between the house and the river. Within easy driving distance of Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, and Port Ewen. Lots of antiquing, art galleries, and historical sites in this area. Good bird watching within 3 miles of the house. Only 15 miles from convenient Amtrak train station in Poughkeepsie. Would recommend and would return!

Beautiful home exactly as promised

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful home from 23 May till June 6th 2016 and were delighted with the cleanliness and facilities we found on arrival. Unusually hot for the time of year but the aircon coped very well. Exceptionally well equipped home but one word of advice do not grocery shop till you have checked the fridge and cupboards .....you might be surprised at the amount of food drinks spices oils etc others have left you. Many thanks to Angela for ensuring we had a great vacation and for providing us with a wonderful house exactly as you described it.

Highly recommended for a relaxing view of the Hudson but close to the nearby cities and countryside.

Thanks from the whole Carroll Family

Simple, tasteful, clean, well-located, beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Columbus Day weekend to celebrate a family birthday with 6 adults, 2 kids, and an infant. It was perfect for the occasion. Instead of the knick-knacks and clutter that one often finds at a rental house, this place is very simply furnished and decorated, but with all the essentials that you need. The view out over the Hudson River is dramatic and entertaining as the boats and barges pass by (not to mention the trains on the eastern shore.)

The kitchen is well stocked with essential pots, pans, cutlery, kitchen tools, and basic supplies (oil, salt, sugar, spices, foil.) It's a fairly new gas range/oven in the kitchen and a weber kettle grill outside. The dining room table seats 8 comfortably. The two upstairs bathrooms are very nice, though the downstairs one is somewhat cramped and didn't provide the best shower (I did point this out to management so this may be corrected.) The bedrooms are spread out enough that they feel private, except with regard to sound, which seems to travel pretty freely through the walls and doors. The upstairs bunkbed is huge; the kids loved it. Views from the upstairs front bedrooms across the Hudson are really beautiful. No A/C but ceiling fans in all the rooms and on the porch.

The property is very tastefully and carefully landscaped with slate walls and perennials. The porch has a half dozen comfy chairs for lounging and an 8 person table. I will point out that River Road actually runs between the house and the river, though there is access all the way down to the river. The porch is about 15' above the roadway, so it's not a visual distraction, but the sound of the occasional car and motorcycle can be loud.

The location is very convenient to Kingston: about a 5 minute drive to Kingston Waterfront and 10 minutes to the Stockade District, which are the two parts of Kingston that seem to be "happening" right now. (Be sure to check out the Kingston Farmers Market in the Stockade district on Saturdays.) River Road is not great for walking on dues to lack of sidewalks, but about a mile south on the left is the Esopus Meadows park which has a number of trails along the waterside and through the woods.

Be advised that the manager does take the reference check process pretty seriously, so be sure your references know they might get called.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this house for visitors looking for a comfortable and low-key getaway in a beautiful part of New York State.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for all your feedback...we always appreciate the time it takes to provide such detail and we DO take it seriously! There was a decrease in the water pressure in the downstairs shower due to a clogged shower head... it has now been addressed and is providing strong water pressure! Also, the house DOES have central air conditioning with two different thermostats(one upstairs/one main floor). Tim, Thank you again for taking such good care of our property during your stay....You and your family are welcome back anytime in the future!
