The little bathing pool stands in the middle of the courtyard with plants all around it – two Cyprus trees, a lemon tree, palms and aquatic plants. There are seats built into the pool so you may relax with a good Martini and snacks before lunch, or take a refreshing dip in the evening when you return from the beach. The pebbled surface below the water will remind you of river-swimming. Loungers are provided so you may catch the morning sun, on the terrace or in the courtyard, and maybe take a siesta after your meal. There’s also a folding table and chairs so you may dine by candlelight in the cool of the delicately illuminated courtyard. Games are provided for your evening entertainment, and you have your own Television (HD 3D Sony with DVD Blue-Ray, English channels) Internet and Wifi. In the cooler months, you may gather round a fire in the sitting-room, snug beneath the ancient vaulted ceilings. Car parking: you have a choice of two car parks just 50 metres from the house.

Wonderful home base in Languedoc

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a two-week stay in Junas. This was an opportunity to celebrate my oldest friend's and my own 60th birthday, and we spent a highly enjoyable time in this rental. The home has been beautifully done - very tasteful and well equipped.

The pool was perfect for cooling down during the hot weather, with seating at several different levels.

We didn't use the kitchen for much more than opening wine and putting out a baguette with cheeses, or making coffee in the morning, but it appeared to have everything required to cook more extensively.

The beds were very comfortable. One suite includes a tub (next to the fireplace), and the other suite has a shower. Although there is no air conditioning except a portable in one of the bedrooms, the thick stone walls kept the interior spaces very comfortable, even during 35 degree days.

Parking was easy and we never had to go more than a block or so to find a spot.

The owner, Jacques, is on site, with his own accommodations off the upstairs terrace. We weren't aware of this arrangement until we arrived, but I must say that Jacques was at all times extremely respectful of our privacy, very courteous and helpful throughout. He is a lovely and charming host, and we shared several good laughs over a glass (or two) of wine with him.

We were sad to leave both the house and Jacques, and would not hesitate to recommend this rental for anyone looking for a tasteful, quiet get-away in the south of France.

Owner's Response: Jane is a lover of France who travels every summer in the Languedoc, south of France. She came with a friend to quietly visit this corner of the region for 15 days. Open minded, full of curiosity and communicative - they speak French very well - they have visited plenty of places and villages in an area around very extended Junas. They also took advantage of the pool in the patio to refresh themselves at the return of his excursions as well as the apartment they rented in the house. From any point of view, very careful in the use of the apartment, you would be lucky as hosts if you welcome these friendly Canadian travelers from Ontario to your home. Thanks a lot Jane and Carol for your visit…

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: " A divine sojourn in France" We spent a fantastic week in old, venerable and lovely lodgings! A perfect place for quiet-seekers. A jewel in the midst of wonderful surroundings. Neighboring villages and cities, as well as the fantastic beaches of the Camargue, are quickly within reach. Accomodation is modern and renewed, and the host is always ready to help with friendly advice. We warmly recommend this accomodation and look forward to come back again! A heartful sojourn! -- This fun and well traveled couple from the north of Germany visits the South of France regularly to discover new wines and to meet with their providers. For these owners of a wine bar in Hamburg there is nothing better than exploring the many little lanes and country roads of the area and stopping at different wine estates on the way. The region offers interesting wines from the coastal region as well as from the hilly area leading over the Mountains. It was a pleasure to invite them to the traditional aperitif to exchange impressions, which was answered by an invitation from their side to try some local wines they had discovered, celebrated in the soft evening light of the patio. I think they utterly enjoyed their time here, the day trips in the area and the comfort and independence that the house offers. This proofs that even outside of the summer season this area is worth a visit and that the tranquility of autumn or the mild winters have their unique charm.

Vacaciones en Provenza

  • 4 of 5
