This cozy log cabin in Tunbridge Vermont is the perfect getaway for a family or a couples retreat. Nestled in the hills of central Vermont by the White River, the cabin is set back off a dirt road on 20 wooded acres with trails, blackberry bushes and apple trees. The large lawn has ample space for games and running around, or just sit quietly and watch the wildlife wander by. A large fire pit is available for s'mores and staying warm on cool nights under the stars. When it is time to go inside there is a TV and DVD player with a large collection of movies to choose from, and wi-fi so you can stay plugged in if you need to. The cabin comfortably sleeps a family or two couples, with a double bed in the loft and a double and a twin in the bedroom.
In the summer their is hiking, with access to the appalachian trail, and fishing, kayaking, and tubing in the nearby White River(10min).
In the fall, just being outside is enough. The fall colors in Vermont are astonishing and should be on everyone's bucket list.
The winter brings Skiing, and from the cabin there are four different mountains nearby. Killington(55min), Pico(55min), Suicide Six(30min), Quechee(30min). There is cross country skiing at Mt. Tom and locally at the Fair grounds. For snowmobilers the Vermont Association of Snow Travellers (VAST) trails run throughout Tunbridge.
The property was absolutely beautiful with some open land and wooded areas. There were trails marked in the woods so one could not get lost.
The owner of the home was very accommodating and very kind!
We were so fortunate to have found this piece of heaven to visit!
Great cabin! Cozy warm and updated space with efficient layout and lots of custom woody details. It was bitter cold but the cast iron gas stove was really perfect: just as nice as a wood stove with no mess and hassle. Calen was responsive and available for any additional assistance. There are multiple roads in but the one that our garmen sent us through turned out to be not navigable due to ice. Google maps and waze were fine.
We had a great time in the very clean, functional and cozy cabin. Due to the amount of snow it was right in the middle of "winter wonderland". Thanks again to Calen, who was very helpful!
If your're looking for a quiet getaway, where you can hike and relax, than this is the right place!
What a great place! We spent a long weekend here with our puppy and had an awesome time. The place is as cute as a button, very comfortable, well equipped and very quiet. We spent quite a bit of time walking the trails that Calen had laid out, and even roamed a little further. The internet works great, the firepit and tetherball afforded us a lot of entertainment. You get the feeling you are even further away from it all than you are, though it is indeed a ways away from it all. One thing... I would recommend bringing most of what you need, as it is quite a distance from a supermarket, though there are some smaller stores only a few minutes away. We plan to come back for sure.
We loved the "cozy cabin". The cabin was very well equipped, very clean and was just what we were looking for. It was rustic and tucked away in the woods. The trail out back was well marked and we enjoyed our walks. The owner, Calen, responded promptly to any communication we had with him before arriving. We asked if we could get into the cabin early and he let us know as soon as it had been cleaned and was ready. This was a great " get away from it all" spot and we hope to go back soon.
My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for his birthday and it was amazing! Calen was super helpful and was so easy to get in touch if we ever needed to contact. We went in the winter time which was just gorgeous waking up to a snowy white view. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and was so clean and peaceful. We are definitely going to be returning, yet this time in the spring or fall. I highly recommend this cabin for any occasion(:
