Island home with 2 spacious bedrooms, with all the modern comforts on the beach.

Kythera is one of the very few Greek Islands that has retained its traditional Greek character and resisted the homogenisation of tourism. Diakofti Beach is undeniably one of the most beautiful places on the island.

Diakofti Beachhfront Holiday Home is a a traditional Greek 'Kamara' that allows you to open your front door to the white sand and crystal blue waters of Diakofti Beach.

The house has 2 large bedrooms and a common living/kitchen space. One bedroom allows you to open your door onto the beach and the other bedroom opens onto the garden and has views of the mountains. Both rooms have ensuite bathrooms. The house is unified with a common living/kitchen area that has 2 entrances, one from the beach and the other from the pergola area near the garden.

The house includes all the modern comforts, such as wifi in all living spaces, LED TV with antenna, reverse cycle air-conditioning in every room, fully equipped kitchen with all appliances, a dishwasher and a washing/dryer.

There are 2 bedrooms, one which sleeps 2 adults on a double bed, the other sleeps 2 adults on a double bed and 1 on a single bed. The couches in the living room have been custom made to function as beds and sleep a further 2 people on each. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with a flushable toilet and a shower.

If the guests requires a cleaner to come in on a daily basis this can be arranged for a small fee.

There is parking on the property.

Pets are allowed , however not on the furniture.

The house is within walking distance to several locally owned and run tavernas and bars where you can experience a traditional Greek meal with perhaps an Ouzo or two.

A short drive away from Diakofti is the main town and other villages on the Island for even more eating and drinking experiences and many other shopping needs.

Diakofti Beachfront Holiday home is the perfect place for families, couples and friends as it offers enough seclusion for people to spend quality time together, while also offering activities and socialisation to get satisfaction from their stay on Kythera Island.

About Fiona Aroney

Hi my name is Fiona Aroney. Most of my childhood was spent between Kythera, Athens in Greece and in Sydney Australia.

I practised as a criminal lawyer for 12 years as both a prosecutor and defence solicitor in Sydney.

After a much needed life style change I decided to move back to Kythera in 2016 and restore my families heritage.

Why Fiona Aroney chose Kithira

The holiday home is traditionally known as a 'Kamara'. It was built by my great-grandparents and has been handed down through the generations.

As a family, our most fond memories have been spending time at the Kamara at Diakofti beach. The endless summer days, spending time with family and friends, and eating lots of good food.

What makes this house unique

This house is unlike any other as it is right on the water. It is literally built on the sand and you are about 3 meters from water.

There are many services that can provided for if you let me know what your needs are in advance. For instance, if you would like a house cleaner to come in every week this can be accommodated. If you would like a massage, there is a masseur on the island and an appointment can be booked so that they can come down to the house. Please note that during the Winter, Autumn and Spring months the Island is quite and the Taverns and shops closest to the beach will be closed. However, the shops and taverns up in the villages will be open. The Island is just as beautiful during what is considered the 'off seasons', however it is just must more quite.
