Why Richard and Juliet Wilson chose Frigiliana
Benefits from being in the Old Village whist having access to the road and the old village itself It is rare in that it has private rooftop pool. We love it because we have the sea in front of us and the mountains behind. We also love the village the culture and the people

The apartment is great with two of the main pluses being the location and the rooftop pool. It was very hot whilst we were staying (high 30’s to 40 degrees) so the apartment pool and the bigger shared pool were very welcome and very well used. The back gate access to old town means you are instantly in the centre of heritage Frigiliana but to be honest new town is also gorgeous. The apartment was well kitted out and it was great to have the rooftop space for eating and drinking. Easy access to some great beaches less than 30 mins drive away - Nerja much closer but the beaches off to the East were better! Parking can be an issue as the location of the apartment is so popular but we didn’t have any real problems finding somewhere pretty nearby. Thanks for a great stay!
Lovely Apartment in perfect location
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment.Situated in the village it is easy to walk to shops, restaurants. The roof terrace and pool were perfect for relaxing and for cooling down. Would love to stay here again!
A super time had.
Very nice apartment - wonderful outside space. Fab holiday with lots of great restaurants nearby. Convenient for walkers as in the middle of the village. Hope to be back soon.
Our family of 4 with 2 adult children stayed in the flat for 2 weeks and enjoyed it a lot. The furnishing is a little sparse for a penthouse - among other things we could have wished some better lawn chairs with loose cushions for all 4 chairs at the terrasse - but the location of the flat, the size of it and the pool is absolutely perfect.
Communication with the owners and with the personel in the village was smooth and accomodating.
Thank you for your review and glad that you enjoyed the penthouse
We will consider buying more cushions for the terrace and possible extra seating and will have a look this September. However the beauty of the terrace might be spoilt by too much furniture
Also chose a minimalist feel to the penthouse because after trying other options it felt too crowded. This year we spent 1500 gbp on beautiful cupboards in the lounge and this year we intend to replace the sofa with an L shaped unit which will look great.
Fantastic place to stay in a wonderful village.
The pre-stay information and ease of contact with Juliet (owner) was great, as indeed was the/were the email(s) from Sue (the property Manager), just prior to departure, giving us her mobile number and clarifying exactly when we would be arriving and helping with any questions we had. We needed help re taxi's arranged to collect us at the Airport...and take us back a week later which Sue helped sign-post.
Key selling point for us (which was fully used) was the roof top pool; we were there the first week of September when the temp didn't fall below 32 in the daytime! The pool is cleaned twice a week. The app't is very well positioned to wander up into the old-town, via private access to the rear, and it doesn't take long to find out where all the restaurants in the village are. English is widely spoken if that's a concern.
The app't itself is well appointed; there was nothing we needed to nip out and buy, save beach towels. If you need your fix of UK TV, Juliet has both local and satellite TV available along with a small collection of DVD'.
We didn't hire a car, or need one once we got there. The bus into Nerja costs €1 each way, takes around 10 minutes and gives you access to great beaches, the old town and a supermarket within a short stroll of the return bus journey.
We are looking at going again in 2017.

Euro news 2016
Frigiliana has just been officially chosen as one of the 'Rural Wonders of Spain'.
This was decided on the 24th November following a month of online voting for the awards.
The village is beautiful with many lovely restaurants little bars and seasonal festivals every month or two.
The hills around the village have beautiful walking trails and the beaches on the coast are both beautiful coves or long sandy stretches with clear blue water to swim in.
Nerja hosts an abundance of festivals and is an interesting and pretty historic town. Visitors enjoy the area called 'The Balcon' with its tall palms, cafes and stunning sea views along the coast.
There are famous caves to explore in Nerja and a good golf course down the road in Velez Malaga.
Road trips of about an hour will get you to Granada ( Alhambra) or into Malaga Both these cities offer you a taste of the real Spain, its history and culture.
