The swimming pool area is totally private and the pool is 10 x 5m with plenty of sun loungers. We have a childproof barrier that can be erected upon request to prevent small children entering the pool area.Cots and high chair also available. Free WiFi throughout and ipod/iphone docking station and CD players provided. The views from the large front terrace are of breathtaking mountains and it's own olive grove. On the front terrace there is a stone table and seating, ideal for breakfast al fresco or evening aperitifs as the sun goes down! There is a flat screen TV and DVD player in the lounge. The nearby Rambla is great for children to explore. The area is ideal for cycling and there are 4 bikes for your enjoyment and a set of golf clubs if you decide to play at one of the local courses. Numerous bars and restaurants can be found in the surrounding towns, villages and coastal fronts. The beach is gorgeous and is a scenic 25 minute drive through the mountains and there are many places of interest close by, such as Mojacar, Almeria, Murcia and Granada. All within half an hour away are Golf courses, tennis, horse riding, go-karting, water park and caves. You will be greeted closeby on arrival and taken to the house, so that you don't get lost, by the couple who look after the house for us. Their local knowledge is also at your disposal. About Mrs Angela Roberts

The property is owned by two sisters and their families.

Why Mrs Angela Roberts chose Mojacar area

We wanted to buy a holiday home in Spain and the climate here is wondeful all year round. The area is not touristy or commercialised so it truly has a spanish feel.

What makes this villa unique

The location is wonderful. Rural but without being isolated. The views are gorgeous and both sisters fell in love with the property after viewing over 20 other properties. It has been totally renovated with a rural, comfortable feel and lots of love has been put into every part of the renovation work.

The best family holiday ever!,,

  • 5 of 5

Two families stayed together in this amazing villa. It exceeded our expectations. The listing description does not do it justice as there is a whole separate room for dining or for the children to have chill out time in and other shaded areas . Belinda, our personal housekeeper lives near by and was always on hand; nothing was too much trouble. We struggled to get the children out of the pool to visit other superb places like Mojaccar, San Juan, Lorca etc. Huercal Overa is 3 minutes by car and is a lovely proper Spanish town . Our favourite restaurant is Las Vegas just over the bridge but there are many lovely restaurants and bars. A memorable holiday made even better by the wonderful accommodation. Thank you.

Fabulous family fun in this beautiful villa

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in this lovely holiday villa. The pool area and back terrace are totally private and our young children loved the pool. Very well equipped with every home comfort, the caretakers ensured that our every need was catered for. They also gave us lots of tips for good, local restaurants and places to visit. We would definitely recommend this villa for a carefree family holiday.

What a find - private Luxury Villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this Villa with friends for a week at the end of May/start of June and had the most wonderful relaxing holiday. It really was a lovely as the photos show, particularly the large pool.

What was nice was how well equiped every part was. There's everything you could ask for. A multitude of games, toys and lilos all neatly stored in a box near the pool. The kitchen was stocked with enough crockery and utensils to cater to a large party of people (we particularly liked the poppy cups and the extra beer fridge). Lots of lovely towels and beach mats and everything was placed where you want it to be. I think a lot of thought has gone into this Villa like the outside shower (which was warm enough to use as a normal shower if the other 2 bathrooms are full. I had two outdoor showers during my stay!).

The whole property is very private as you can see from the walls surrounding the pool and you are not overlooked from any angle.

Our tips: 1. Hire a car so that you can enjoy the surrounding area.

2. Get the Keith and Sue (who will meet/greet you) to give you

information about places to go, they have lots of knowledge, oh,

and book at least two weeks. You won't want to leave....

villa superbe

  • 5 of 5

Summer 2010

  • 5 of 5

We came to Huercal with a two-family party (4 adults, 3 kids) and the property fitted us perfectly and very comfortably. The house is one of the best supplied we have stayed in with every thought given to the needs of a big group. There was much to do in the house, around the splendid pool, playing basketball or walking down on the ramblas which is challenging without being overly dangerous (although watch out for some drops if the kids venture there).

The temperature during August was often very hot and we were grateful for the air conditioning at times when a siesta was called for. This certainly made it comfortable for the kids at night.

The local town is fine - well supplied with supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The market is really well worth a visit for the excellent fruits and vegetables etc which are priced at an incredibly cheap rate.

The house is about 30 mins from the coast and if the new access road is finished now it will be even less of a journey. The motorways and coastal road are easy to navigate and any of the local cities are worth a visit - especially Lorca and Almeria.

We had some wonderful days driving up and down the coastal road to discover pleasant little beaches with a single bar (if any). Larger sea towns such as Garrucha are touristy yet pleasant and offer good places for eating (as do many of the interior villages - all worth stopping at along the way). The sea is usually calm although there are some rough spots. Alongside this natural gift we found the waterpark at Vera to be a popular day out with the kids (and it is a day - arrive at opening and take a big lunch for the day - plenty of gear to support you in the house for such a trip).

In advance of our arrival (and during), the owners were very attentive and helpful without being intrusive or over-determining. While there is lots of information and guidance on what to do in the area and local town, there is enough variety to maintain the most restless of spirits.

Well recommended for groups - whether you wish to stay relatively local or venture further afield (the interior on the way to Fort Bravo is spectacular and one can imagine taking a longer drive to Granada if we return).

A wonderful stay for us so don't hesitate if heat, sun, sand and Spain are your thing!

Lovely well equiped villa with brilliant pool.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this villa for 2 weeks in August. The owners had kindly let us take 12 people even though it was only advertised for 11. As several of our party were children this was fine for us. The villa was very well equiped with cooking utensils and crockery, everything we needed in fact. As the weather was so good we spent most of the time outside and the pool really was great. It was a good size with a deep end deep enough for diving. The children spent hours in it! There were also plenty of loungers for everyone and it was a real plus having pool towels provided.

The outside eating area which overlooked the pool was great, providing some much needed shade during the day with 2 tables big enough for us all to fit around.

There was a table football game, snorkels, masks, flippers and inflatables provided which the children thought was great!

Contact with the owners prior to booking the villa was good, they responded promptly to queries and were very friendly providing clear instructions as to where the villa was. They even booked a hotel room in the nearby town for some of our party who arrived the day before the rental started.

The bedrooms were comfortable with solid furniture and nice bedlinen. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was effective and easy to operate. The bedding and towels were all changed on the middle weekend which was good.

The villa is some distance from the town and at this time of year it was too hot to walk or cycle in the day so we did have to use the car to go into the town. We found the bars in the main square were the best and the square was great for the children to run around in while waiting for their food!

The only slight 'moans' we had were the flies which made it difficult to leave any food uncovered and the 'aroma' which occasionally surrounded the villa! However as this is a rural villa these are to be expected.

Overall we had a brilliant 2 weeks the villa is lovely with beautiful views all around and the totally private swimming pool is it's crowning glory! For a peaceful get away from it all relaxing holiday we would certainly recommend it.

The house is 5 min by car from the lovely market town of Huercal Overa in Almeria, which has numerous restaurants, bars, supermarkets, banks, shops and a hospital. A 25 minute scenic drive takes you to the sandy beach at San Juan de los Terreros. Beachfront restaurants are dotted along the palm tree lined promenade. Amazing coastal drives. Within approx half an hour from the house is the busy port of Aguilas (with shops, a square, cafes and restaurants), Garrucha, (for wonderful seafood restaurants), Mojacar (quite busy and atmospheric) and Mojacar Pueblo (the old town with whitewashed houses in the mountainside), fantastic restaurants and quaint gift shops. Granada (Alhambra Palace) is approx 2 hours away and Almeria (Alcazaba-10th Century Moorish castle) and Murcia, both about 1 hour away are well worth a visit. Sorbas caves and the mini Hollywood theme park near Tabernas where they filmed 'The good, the bad and the ugly'. Also, the Water Park at Vera.
