About the property

5 Individual Cabins - Sleeps 20 with great facilities for campers

Preston Ranch Cabins is located in the heart of historic Preston Ranches, surrounded by thousands of acres of private lands and national forest. These 5 rustic yet homey cabins each have their own bathrooms and most have kitchens. The facility boasts a pavilion complete with a fully supplied outdoor kitchen and two full bathrooms for campers or day guests. Additional amenities include a bonfire pit, kids play area and horse corral, all along a beautiful stream which hosts a wonderful array of local wildlife. It’s a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world while still easy driving distance from Jackson Hole and Yellowstone National Park. The cabins are only accessible in the summer months as the snow blocks them in during the winter, we accept bookings between June and October, though if weather permits we may open early and stay open late.

The quote that you see is for all five cabins; they are rented together and are not rented individually.

We are a great facility for family reunions and weddings. In our 5 cabins, we can comfortably sleep 20 people, with an extra loft space that can accommodate a few kids with sleeping bags. The covered pavilion is great for large gatherings which a concrete floor perfect for dancing, full kitchen and Two full bathrooms with showers. Camping with tents or under the stars is allowed for an additional $5 per person per night. If someone in your group brings their RV's or Camp Trailers it is $20 per night for the first 2 people, and $5 for each additional person per night. There are some RV electrical hookups.

There is a permanent horse corral set up near the cabins and stream where horses can stay for $5 per horse per night (2 night minimum). Guests are responsible for their own horse's food (certified weed free hay only) and watering.

Special Event Fees for people who are not staying overnight at the Cabins are $1 per person (up to a maximum total of 250 people) per event. This fee applies for gatherings such as weddings, fund raiser, etc. People are responsible for taking away their garbage for their events.

About Bonnie Preston

We are a cattle and hay ranch that has been family owned and operated for 5 generations. We are passionate about taking care of the earth and making the beauty of nature accessible to those around us to enjoy. As such we have made 1000 of our 1700 acres walk in accessible for fishing hunting and hiking. We have however kept the area around the cabins private for our guests to enjoy in complete privacy as their own natural oasis.

Bonnie Preston purchased this cabin in 1885

Why Bonnie Preston chose Bedford

While Wyoming is widely known as a haven for all things wilderness, it is increasingly difficult to actually get away from it all. Even the most secluded camping sites are likely to have the occasional passerby. Because the cabins are located among an expanse of private property, our guests are ensured a level of seclusion and privacy that is increasingly difficult to come by in this day and age, enabling them to connect with nature and one another in a more profound way.

Delightful property! Rustic and accommodating!

  • 4 of 5

The gathering space was the key to our positive experience! We ate there, played games, watched outdoor movies, did crafts and just visited with one another. The cabins are small but adequate for sleeping, a beautiful rushing creek right off the porch of two of them. Very important to keep small children under supervision. Owners helpful and interested in making the experience great.

Our family of 20+ enjoyed the ranch and all the beautiful surroundings. The pavilion was perfect for our meals, games & karaoke. The pavilion was well stocked for all our cooking needs. The cabins worked out great for our entire family. Thank you Bonnie.

R & R

  • 5 of 5

This rental comes highly recommended from our family. We stayed at the cabins for 4 nights with a group of 20+ family members and it was more than accommodating! This place has a BEAUTIFUL layout. Some of the wonderful attributes: Large firepit and Pavilion with grills, sink, refrigerator, tables, outdoor bathrooms and showers!!!! The cabins were beautiful... some were older, which showed the true history and rustic feel of the area and some were newer log wood, but all cabins were clean, and stocked with everything we needed! The beds were comfy as well! If you have a larger group and would like to have an area to congregate, but yet have your own personal space (individual cabins)... THIS IS THE SPOT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!! LOVED THIS PLACE! Thanks to the Preston's for sharing their slice of heaven with us! Angela, MN

Awesome place to relax and rejuvenate

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Preston Ranch during our family reunion and it was truly memorable experience. We reached there after dark so some people in the group were apprehensive that it was too rustic but once we'd the fireplace going and people relaxing to the sound of nearby creek, we had the most wonderful time.

In the day time, the unspoiled beauty of this area is breathtaking as we got to experience the large property that includes the hill, creek and natural wonders. The hostess was most graceous and helpful and made sure we'd a nice comforable stay.

My only regret was that we couldn't stay here longer as it is a true antidote to the fast city life.

We are a 10 minute drive from the towns of Star Valley Ranch and Thayne. We are also just 20 minutes from Afton where the new LDS Temple recently opened. That being said, the cabins themselves are completely private and secluded surrounded by private ranch land, nature and wildlife.
