Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath urban bungalow (1058 sq. Ft.) sleeps 4 adults easily providing both coziness and privacy for all. This unique little spot is conveniently nestled at 316 S. Cortez Street, in the heart of the historic district in downtown Prescott; an ideal “home base” that is one block to the venues and events in the town square.

Built in 1929 this bungalow has two levels, sleeps 4 with street parking. The street level entrance is a courtyard opening to a peaceful private porch lined with benches. Prescott is an active community with an extensive annual calendar of events including, but not limited to; Southwest Indian art festival, Prescott Bluegrass Festival, Prescott Frontier days & World’s Oldest rodeo, Mountain Artists Guild Summer Festival, Yavapai county fair, Fall Fest in the park, the world’s largest gingerbread village and A Dickens of a Holiday. Prescott features a vibrant art and music scene year round.

Prescott national forest has 28 miles of hiking trails and there are 6 lakes in the area. There are endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, golfing and photography.

Enjoy a visit to Prescott's Heritage Park and zoological sanctuary a non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, conservation and public education.

There are just so many things to do and places explore in and around Prescott. A few ideas when venturing outside of Prescott might be (but certainly not limited to):

Jerome (about 30 miles) ~ 'largest ghost town in America' & 'America's most vertical city' is quite an enchanting town and a paradise for photographers. Once a thriving mining camp, Jerome is now an artistic community and makes for a really awesome day trip.

Sedona (about 40 miles) ~'the red rock city', located at the base of Oak Creek Canyon and renowned for its stunning red buttes and monoliths surrounded by lush forest. Sedona is an upscale retirement and tourism community and a center for contemporary and traditional arts with a variety of galleries, boutiques and specialty shops in addition to its amazing hiking opportunities.

Montezuma's castle (about 83 miles) ~ One of a number of well-preserved ancient dwellings in north central Arizona. Quite spectacular with 20 rooms, the 5 story structure is built into a cliff 70 feet above ground level.

Williams (about 83 miles) ~ Here you can board the Grand Canyon Railway and take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Take a legendary journey to an extraordinary place.

The larger municipalities: Flagstaff (about 96 miles) and Phoenix (about 100 miles).

About Kenny Mihelich / Jill Mihelich

We are the Mihelichs'; we live, work and play in the mountains of Southwest Colorado.

When we decided to look for a place to live that would be slightly warmer than where we currently live, Prescott came up as the perfect place. Being in the building and design trades we consider ourselves fortunate to have been able to find a unique property that appeals to our sensibilities regarding history and utilizing space in a conservative manner.

When we get a break from real jobs and playing in a rock band we head south to visit our home and friends in a warmer climate- even if it does have 4 seasons!

Why Kenny Mihelich / Jill Mihelich chose Arizona

The restaurants and shops are only one block away, so after a day of golfing, hiking, biking or enjoying events it is convenient to go home and get ready for a night on the town. This property captured us because our fascination of a "tiny" home and how to maximize the space is very intriguing to us. We love the concept of less being more and somehow being just right. One can live simply and comfortably as well, and have the feeling of spaciousness. We enjoy the porch which is both outside but private.

What makes this bungalow unique

This home was well thought out in location and layout. With two levels and very accessible living spaces being very close in proximity it still manages to provide privacy to anyone on either floor. I have a difficult time deciding where i want to drink my coffee (or wine), read a book, watch a movie, take a nap or hang out with my loved ones!

What acute cottage, such a great location and very comfortable. Everything you could ever need. We stayed with another couple and never felt crowded.

Fantastic Location and Getting Better

  • 4 of 5

The easy walk to the Square, where most of the action is, makes this property popular. The building of a great looking Wedding Chapel and Home next door really upgrades the location. We stayed a month and had a wonderful time. The new window AC will cool down the upstairs quite well but is noisy. This property will continue to improve as the owners continue their "work in progress". We will consider this property for another stay in the future.

Very cute little house with a great location

  • 5 of 5

2 blocks off the town square. Small but cute house. What it lacks in luxuries it greatly makes up for in charm, location, and price. Clean.

Perfect and warm

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay at this property and we loved it more. Beyond the ideal location, sweet little front porch- no need to drive anywhere! The house has everything you need plus the extras that are so helpful (spices, tea, baggies, shower soap, etc).

The space is ideal for a family where you want some privacy, one bedroom upstairs and another downstairs with a living room allow adults and kids to have their own "space".

Additionally the owners are so responsive and just thoughtful- left us a delicious apple pie as we were celebrating a birthday. Wow!

Very nice little house in the heart of downtown Prescott.

  • 5 of 5

This was a very nice place to stay & is within walking distance to downtown. The home was built in 1945, and it has been recently remodeled. Everything was clean & well maintained. The owners were also super friendly and responsive. I would definitely stay there again. Prescott is a great little mountain town.
