There are just so many things to do and places explore in and around Prescott. A few ideas when venturing outside of Prescott might be (but certainly not limited to):
Jerome (about 30 miles) ~ 'largest ghost town in America' & 'America's most vertical city' is quite an enchanting town and a paradise for photographers. Once a thriving mining camp, Jerome is now an artistic community and makes for a really awesome day trip.
Sedona (about 40 miles) ~'the red rock city', located at the base of Oak Creek Canyon and renowned for its stunning red buttes and monoliths surrounded by lush forest. Sedona is an upscale retirement and tourism community and a center for contemporary and traditional arts with a variety of galleries, boutiques and specialty shops in addition to its amazing hiking opportunities.
Montezuma's castle (about 83 miles) ~ One of a number of well-preserved ancient dwellings in north central Arizona. Quite spectacular with 20 rooms, the 5 story structure is built into a cliff 70 feet above ground level.
Williams (about 83 miles) ~ Here you can board the Grand Canyon Railway and take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Take a legendary journey to an extraordinary place.
The larger municipalities: Flagstaff (about 96 miles) and Phoenix (about 100 miles).
We are the Mihelichs'; we live, work and play in the mountains of Southwest Colorado.
When we decided to look for a place to live that would be slightly warmer than where we currently live, Prescott came up as the perfect place. Being in the building and design trades we consider ourselves fortunate to have been able to find a unique property that appeals to our sensibilities regarding history and utilizing space in a conservative manner.
When we get a break from real jobs and playing in a rock band we head south to visit our home and friends in a warmer climate- even if it does have 4 seasons!

The restaurants and shops are only one block away, so after a day of golfing, hiking, biking or enjoying events it is convenient to go home and get ready for a night on the town. This property captured us because our fascination of a "tiny" home and how to maximize the space is very intriguing to us. We love the concept of less being more and somehow being just right. One can live simply and comfortably as well, and have the feeling of spaciousness. We enjoy the porch which is both outside but private.
This home was well thought out in location and layout. With two levels and very accessible living spaces being very close in proximity it still manages to provide privacy to anyone on either floor. I have a difficult time deciding where i want to drink my coffee (or wine), read a book, watch a movie, take a nap or hang out with my loved ones!
Great house, would definitely stay again! We loved walking around town, and being able to just park and leave our cars in front of the house the whole weekend. Great gastropub 3 houses down from the rental, and Cuppers coffee shop just a few more houses down. Small home, but well setup for 2 couples. Only complaint from all of us is the beds. The upstairs bed is way to soft and you sink into the center of it, and the downstairs pillows are a bit uncomfortable. Even with these issues we would stay again.
House was perfect for 2 couples and close to everything. Very clean, easy access with the door keypad for so no need to share keys between us all.
The cottage is cute as a button, equipped for both a short and more extended stay. Internet access was good enough for a software engineer (me) to work during the stay.
The location is very convenient. Just 1 and a half blocks from the main square, post office, library and less than a block from the forest service. The latter is handy for information about the many hikes one can take very near Prescott.
The owners are very friendly and responsive to any needs.
What acute cottage, such a great location and very comfortable. Everything you could ever need. We stayed with another couple and never felt crowded.
The easy walk to the Square, where most of the action is, makes this property popular. The building of a great looking Wedding Chapel and Home next door really upgrades the location. We stayed a month and had a wonderful time. The new window AC will cool down the upstairs quite well but is noisy. This property will continue to improve as the owners continue their "work in progress". We will consider this property for another stay in the future.
2 blocks off the town square. Small but cute house. What it lacks in luxuries it greatly makes up for in charm, location, and price. Clean.
Located in the heart of Prescott! Literally one block from the courthouse, shopping, restaurants and Prescott City trails.
