Come and find out why our mountain, our trees and our, homes are so special.
Come see why our area is the best.
Doug Dalton purchased this house in 1950
Janet Greeley the Owner, grew up in this home after her family settled the town She has lots of memories of living her in the mountains and of her trips into the park. She has kept the family home for memories sake. It is now updated for you to enjoy.. Janet now lives in Santa Barbara, but likes to spend many weeks here each year
If it's worth it to you being away from the city hussel, noise and traffic. Getting away from resort over crowding and enjoying nature.with lot's of room around you. If this like sounds like want you want, then this is the place for you.
the house is easily over an hour away from yosimet and the owner lives next door which makes it feel worried uneasy. The water fall that is shown on the ad is 35 min away from the house. The actual house is very spacious and comfortable the fire pit outside is the best part. The propane tank was empty and locked on to the grill with a chain so you could not switch it out plus there was no extra we had to cook are meal inside which took away the best part of the house
We stayed at this beautiful house for 3 nights during Labor day weekend. It is relatively close to Yosemite, but far away from all the crowds. Very spacious back yard with a beautiful view. Nice BBQ that we used twice. Unfortunately we couldn't use the fire pit because of the drought, but we still had a great time stargazing at night. We got to meet the owners (they stopped by to make sure everything was ok) - such nice friendly people! The grocery store is just a few minutes away. My husband and my son went to Moaning Cavern about an hour away and did some cave rappelling. They loved it! We also enjoyed Rainbow Pools (pretty crowded though), and Carlon Falls (just a mile from the South entrance to Yosemite). Getting in and out of Yosemite was a complete nightmare, but that's our fault for coming on such a busy weekend. Great stay overall.
We stayed in the house for the 3 nights in August. House is very specious and has everything you need for cooking your own meal. Back patio has amazing view of rolling hills and comfortable patio set for eating out. About 12 miles from the house towards Yosemite there is Rainbow Pools that we stopped by every day after our day in Yosemite. Very nice place to cool off. If you are there after 4pm it’s very easy to find parking. House is about 35 min drive to the park entrance. Little bit far but for what it can offer definitely worth it. We’ll be back.
We stayed at the house when we hiked Half Dome. It was lovely, quiet, clean, fully equipped. Be ready to drive a ways to the Park.
The pictures shown don't do this home justice. While an ordinary-looking rancher on the outside, the inside tells a different story. Slate bathrooms with new fixtures, three perfectly sized bedrooms—two adult-sized rooms (one with en suite), one child's. The living room with a large, contemporary sofa, vintage side accent chairs and an adjustable wall-mounted flatscreen TV. In the kitchen, a stylish family dining table with Chilewich placemats, and adorable beaded-edge dishware in the cupboard. Outside, a large round table with well-sized armchairs, a tire swing and sweeping views of a hay field with the mountains beyond...
Only one oddity: why not 24-hour access to a hot shower? Seems like it's on a limited timer.
Still, a 5-star stay.
Our family of four (two teenagers) were very comfortable in this clean and cozy house. The patio and grill were very functional and the view was beautiful and peaceful. We felt we had acres of land to ourselves. The convenience of having a gas station and grocery store down the road was nice. We packed a cooler and went to Yosemite three days in a row! Wonderful vacation, thanks Doug!
Quiet little town, no stop lights. Stars at night are bright.
