No.2 Victoria Street is situated in the heart of the mystical township of Laugharne. Laugharne has its own Corporation and there is only one other village known in the UK that keeps this tradition. We have a Portreeve and a Mayor. It is situated where the Corran and the Taf river meet.
My house is a stones throw from Laugharne Castle, the famous Dylan Thomas Boathouse and Writing Shed, and his local the Browns Hotel.
There are several walks nearby to enjoy the beautiful setting and scenery around this unique township.
There is a small supermarket, chemist, doctor, gift shop, delicatessen, bakery and several watering holes and eateries to choose from.
The famous 7 mile Pendine beach is a short drive away, with Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby and the Pembrokeshire Coast are all within an hours drive. Oakwood Theme Park, Heatherton Park, Dinasaur Park, Anna's Welsh Zoo, and Folly Farm are all only half an hour away. The Botanic Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney House and Dynevor Park are around 35 mins away.
The old market town of Carmarthen is 13 miles away where there are several supermarkets restaurants and shops, and a Cinema, and train station.
Laugharne hosts Laugharne weekend in April where poets, singers, comedians and writers perform in various locations and Laugharne buzzes. We also have a Carnival in the summer which provides some fun and entertainment.
The house dates back to the 19th century and having lived there for several years we have recently refurbished it to a high standard and it offers 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge and dining room. We also have a decked area for sunny evenings and a large lawn for children and 4 legged friends to run free and let off steam.
All in all you can be as active or as relaxed as you like. You can park up and find all you need on foot, or if feeling Adventorous you can venture further afield and see what this special area has to offer.
