Calypso 809 is located in the west tower, the most convenient tower at the resort. This sunny and light filled corner unit features three spacious bedrooms with three private baths, no tiny bunk rooms.

809 west is located on the outside corner of the west Tower on the eighth floor. We love this unit because of the fabulous panoramic unobstructed beach and ocean views with magnificent sunsets! - directly on the Gulf, miles of beaches, sunsets, the new pier, Pier Park and even the Frank Brown ball fields. There is no pool, or street noise....Very quiet and peaceful.

This unit feels brand new with clean tile flooring throughout the unit - no unsightly, stained carpeting. The furniture is beautiful as well as comfortable and the bedding is first class.

Quality appointments throughout including granite counter tops in the kitchen, wet bar, and all bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, a fully stocked kitchen. There's a separate laundry room with a full size washer and dryer.

The dining area comfortably seats four with five bar stools at the bar. The large dining table can accommodate a wonderful meal or a place for games or projects!

The Master bedroom suite features a king size bed, sliding doorway to the balcony, television, DVD player, large bathroom with spacious walk-in closet, oversize soaking tub, separate shower, and private water closet.

Bedroom #2 (almost a second master) features a King bed, wonderful Western exposure/ocean views, flat screen television, DVD player, and connecting private bath with walk-in shower.

Bedroom #3 includes TWO TWIN beds, television, DVD and another connecting, full private bath with tub/shower. Great for kids, large and small, as well as couples or girls' trips. Also, this is great for the golf trips so many guys enjoy down here.

There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room.

This Caribbean influenced resort is in the family friendly west end of Panama City Beach. Enjoy a tropical beverage from the resort's Tiki bar surrounded by the two Gulf front, lagoon style pools with tropical landscaping.

Calypso towers is the closest property to pier park! Park your car - no need to drive anywhere with pier Park across the street - the ultimate dining, shopping, entertainment complex including Margaritaville, The Back Porch, Reggae J's, Dick's Last Resort, Rum Runners, Marble Slab Creamery, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Buffalo Wild Wings (for all the games!), Five Guys, Red Bricks Pizza, Starbucks, Hoffbrau Beer Gardens, a 14 screen theater complex, Target (with new grocery store), Dillards, Ann Taylor Loft, Chicos, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Old Navy, Borders Books, Fusion Day Spa, Massage Envy, cute boutiques and much, much more! The longest pier on the Gulf of Mexico - offering breathtaking views and inexpensive fishing tackle rentals. For a great lunch 'to go' to the beach, check out Fatty's Sub Shop across the street - excellent wraps, pizza, sandwiches! Give them your beach chair number and they'll even deliver it to your beach chair! Check out their menu along with many others in our 'things to do' binder.

Have traveled to Panama City Beach since I was a child and have continued that tradition with children and now grand children. We all love it here and Pier Park has added a whole new dimension. Calypso is across the street from Pier Park and a large floorplan unit that we wanted finally came available. It has the look and feel of a Beach House rather than a condo and we love it. Sure that you will too!

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!

We've been vacationing in PCB for years, and the majority of the past few years at the Calypso. This is by far my favorite condo we've rented. First, Scott was a pleasure to work with. Excellent communication! SO IMPORTANT! Second, I LOVED the corner unit. Gives you extra space and a beautiful open view, lots of windows, plus an extra bathroom. Third, this unit is well stocked. I arrived prior to my family and was so pleased to find a pack-n-play, highchair, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas for my 17 month old granddaughter. Plus, so many extras.... small fan, box fan, an umbrella which we used one evening for a walk to Pier Park, and even a flashlight which was handy to have, just in case, during my stay for the arrival of Hurricane Nate. Fourth, this unit is VERY CLEAN and well furnished. Plus, all of the linens are in great shape too. My only suggestion would be a new mattress for the king suite. A foam topper has been added, but my husband and I found it too soft and uncomfortable for our preference. Bottom line..... YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

Nice unit but needs some work to live up to description

We've been staying at Calypso every year for the past 10 years and always stay in a corner 3BR, 3BA unit with our family of five. We've found Calypso to be the best vacation spot on PCB because it's within walking distance to Pier Park and has amazing gulf views with spectacular sunsets. The corner units (particularly on the west side of the building) are always our first choice.

This condo is nicely decorated, although it is showing some wear. The condo has a lot of extras, including quality porch seating, excellent TVs (one in each bedroom) and good wifi. The kitchen is well stocked with many staples (dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, some spices, etc.). A few kitchen items could stand to be updated (i.e. chipped mugs, some damaged cookware, no pot holders), but there were more pots and pans than one would ever need, good appliances and a nice selection of glasses.

Our family enjoyed gathering around the dining room table for meals and games, but we found it difficult to see at night without a light over the table (highly recommend adding). There are 3 bar stools (not 5, per description). An extra dining chair or two would be nice so that we could all sit around the table together, but this may not be an issue for a smaller family.

We were a bit concerned by a recent review that mentioned the thick, soft memory foam toppers on both king beds being uncomfortable. The owner was accommodating and told us we could remove them if we found them uncomfortable (which we did), so we removed both and put them back on before leaving (quite heavy and bulky to store). While bed firmness is a matter of personal preference and some may like soft memory foam toppers, we'd prefer a comfortable mattress that provides some back support. We agree with the last reviewer and recommend replacing the mattresses instead of adding toppers.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable and we appreciated the owner checking in on us. With a few updates including a bit more organization in the master closet (to provide additional space for our belongings), the laundry area (remove rusted chairs and make more room to open dryer door), and the pantry (rearrange pots to make more space for guest food), we'd be happy to write a 5-star review.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear you had a nice stay. Little bit puzzled by your title needs work to live up to the description. We use our condos personally and make sure they are always as nice as our own home. A policy that has made many of our guests repeat customers so well worth the investment for us. To that end the condo was remodeled less than a year ago which included the addition of crown molding, complete repaint, beed board chair rails, under cabinet lighting, and ceramic kitchen back splash. The bed comforters were all replaced the week before your stay. All the furniture is very high end compared to what you will find in the majority of beach condos and is less than two years old. The bar stools do have a few stains from this season but we plan to recover them this winter as part of our yearly maintenance. The dining area sits 8 people which is the maximum guest occupancy for a Calypso 3BR/3BA set by the Panama City Beach fire marshall. All of our beds do include Serta memory foam mattress toppers which the majority of our guests love. The few that prefer a more firm bed can remove them and the mattress underneath is like brand new. The master closet does contain additional bedding which some guest appreciate but it is a huge walk in closet with plenty of room for anything you could possibly require for a one week stay. We couldn't find any damaged chip mugs or cookware but did add three more coffee cups after your stay. We love to cook and do have plenty of pots and pans. Before we owned our condos we always brought our own cooking pot because the rentals never had anything large enough to cook gumbo, boil shrimp, etc. I was determined to have a well stocked kitchen for my guests and most really appreciate it.There is a dining room light within 3 feet of the dining table as well as five more lights in the kitchen, dining and living areas. Have personally entertained many guest and family for dinner and lighting was never an issue. We do provide beach chairs and umbrellas for our guest to use. Every year they are replaced with new ones as the saltwater can cause rust within a year. Never had a complaint about them before only complements but they are easily moved as they are all lightweight and portable.Thank you for staying with us and Happy New year. Calypso Resort is a great place to stay. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Beach beautiful as always. Our Condo was large, very clean and one of the Best I have rented at Panama City Beach in the last 30 years. Looking forward to coming back 2018

Another Great Vacation at Calypso 809W

My family enjoyed our recent week stay in this very well appointed condo. The condo has every detail that anyone could want. The furnishings were very comfortable and the unit has a very beach like feel. The views from the balcony and west facing windows were spectacular. The elevated chairs and table on the balcony was the ideal place to enjoy our morning coffee. We look forward to our next visit to Panama City Beach and would like to once again stay in this wonderful unit.
