My place is unique. It's a place of art in the hearth of Trastevere. An open space in modern style in an antique building. A top floor terrace with plants and flowers where to enjoy your morning espresso. All comforts you can imagine for a flat are provided. And if you love art and space this is the perfect place for you!

The space

My flat is minimal but elegant, spacious and very bright any time of the day. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one very comfortable sofa-bed and a lot of space all around. The atmosphere of the flat represents my love for art, with the dining room decorated with paintings from the last century, the main bedroom enriched by African decorations and the English guests will notice the chairs that one time used to be in the gardens of Hyde Park. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, with microwave kettle and toaster. There is also a balcony where you can find a washing machine and a water filter will let you choose between still and sparkling water. In the living room you will be able to enjoy a good film watching the TV sitting on a big sofa, that can also be used as a double bed. Upstairs there is a small studio area with desk and chairs where to work on your laptop. Finally, you can find a big terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast in the sun or have a dinner in the warm Italian evenings. I am really proud of my flat and I love spending time here, I hope you'll do too.

Guest access

The apartment will be entirely at your disposal.

Interaction with guests

I'll be available to give you any help and assistance during your stay. If I can't for any reason, someone from Hostmaker will take care of you. They are a friendly bunch who help me out when I am a little busy.

The neighbourhood

Trastevere is a very lively area, with many cafes and restaurants around. If you prefer cooking your meals at home, you can find a supermarket and an organic food shop in via San Francesco a Ripa, or in the mornings in Piazza San Cosimato there is a small food market. The area is very central and all the main attractions in Rome are just a bus ride away, but for those who want to enjoy a Vespa ride on their roman holiday they can rent one in Vicolo della Renella.

Getting around

The unit is located in the very heart of Trastevere (center of Rome) and the whole area is packed with typical roman restaurants and bars.

You don't really need to take public transportations to reach the historical center. But if you really want to, you can either take the bus or the tram (n 8 directed to P.zza Venezia). To reach the airport you can take the train from Stazione Trastevere (you can reach it always with the tram 8). The closest metro is Piramide (metro B). You can reach Piramide by bus (n3 or n3B). If you need to catch a train at Central station, you can get there by metro from Piramide. Anyway, you also use car sharing service: Car2Go, Enjoy. Uber is active as well or simply grab/call a Taxi service.

If you arrive to Rome with the car be careful because you need a special pass to reach the centre, so you will need to leave the car out of the ZTL zone (here is the map: If you have a permit (specific occasion/events, disable people etc) you could park in the street or use this car parking:CIARLAPiazza San Cosimato,

Remember that to park on the street if there are no lines or just white lines, it will be free. If you park on blue line you will need to pay at the machines on the street. It’s 1,00 €/h and it’s free on sunday.

- Other things to note :

* Bed linens and towels are provided.

* Roma Capitale authority has decided on tourist accommodation tax payments due from the guests of hotels, holiday homes, rented rooms establishments, bed & breakfasts and camping grounds in Rome. The tourist accommodation tax is due for each night spent in Rome’s accommodation facilities.

Regulation on the Rome city tax, approved on March 30th 2018, has introduced important innovations. Tourists staying in private apartment are required to pay a daily contribution of € 3.50 per person. The fee applies only for the first 10 day. Exception: persons who are residents of Rome, and children up to 10 years old.

You can pay cash at your check-in, directly to the person that will welcome you and we will give you a personal receipt.

Outstanding place in the heart of Trastevere

  • 5 of 5

This large, eclectically decorated apartment is in the heart of Trastavere within an easy walk to many restaurants, bars, shops, and other points of interest. The area is a center for nightlife but, with the windows closed, there is almost no street noise in the apartment. The property is well managed and everyone we came into contact with was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing with a bottle of wine on the large rooftop terrace with views of the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola each night.

If you want to live like a Roman

  • 5 of 5

This is not an apartment bought to rent, but an actual home in the heart of one of the great Roman neighborhoods, trastevere. You will be living like a Roman. You can decide if that is the experience you want. For me, my wife and my three mid-teen/early twenty kids, we thought everything was perfect. The apartment building is on a very narrower street - even for trastevere - directly up the street from an interesection that does have a boisterous but very fun crowd with tourists and Roman's alike, particularly on the weekends. The apartment does receive a fair amount of that noise (although the back "main" bedroom faces the other way so it isn't as loud). It Is really crowd noise and not traffic. All very Roman-like. You can always sit on the large terrace that faces the other direction. And speaking of the terrace, it is very large and, well, Roman. It has a lemon tree, some small kind of orange tree, and an assortment of plants and flowers. It looks up to a bell tower hundreds of years old that still rings its bells every 15 minutes. Those bells and morning birds are what you wake to as the terrace is just up a few stairs from the main bedroom. The apartment is on the top floor of what I assume to be a 1400 year building replete with exposed painted white timber ceiling. You do have to walk up about 45 steps or take what is a very small, very Roman elevator that lifts in the center of the staircase. The apartment is lovely. Hard to get a sense of the lay out from the pictures but it essentially breaks into two halves. To the left is a narrow but very big and nice kitchen with a little terrace off of it. Extending from the kitchen is the dining room which really is as lovely as the pictures. From the kitchen is a spiral staircase which is narrower but leads to a nice bedroom with its own terrace. To the right is a very open room with big square windows. That room leads to the living room with big window/doors looking on the street and has a really nice sofa bed. There are stairs that lead to a loft space and the main bedroom. The stairs up would never "pass code" in the States with a completely open side to the floor below. The main bedroom is a decent size with the bigger bathroom off of it. The bathrooms themselves are nice and clean and functional. So, if you have small kids or can't handle stairs, don't come. If you want to live like a Roman, come.

Beautiful apartment, but very noisey street.

  • 3 of 5

The apartment was beautiful, well designed, interesting furniture and an amazing terrace. The showers are bit small, as is the elevator and the winding stairs up to the second bedroom. I would recommend the apartment to younger couples or groups of friends who don't mind the noisey street below. The host was very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our stay overall but probably wouldn't stay here again.
