We currently reside in Southern NH. We are retired and have 2 adult children. We have been vacationing on the cape for years. We decided that Falmouth was the best location for us due to ease of access, beautiful beaches, the shining sea bike path, great restaurants & bars, and a thriving year round economy.
Ned & Valera Nichols purchased this house in 2015
We viewed a large number of properties in Falmouth. We fell in love with this house as soon as we walked into it. It is very attractive and clean. The location is private(on a dead end street) and close to a private beach on Great Pond.
We are close to nine(10) Falmouth public beaches(9 on the ocean 1 on a pond), a 12 mile bike path, five(5) public golf courses(all in Falmouth), Two(2) movie theatres, shopping for anything you may need, and many friendly restaurants and bars. Falmouth has everything!
This rental includes everything that you need: towels and washcloths, air conditioning upstairs and downstairs, WI FI, cable TV, Netflix, children welcome, smoke free, pet free, outdoor grill with gas, cotton sheets and pillow cases, paper products and all basic household supplies. Check it out. Very few rentals offer all of this. We will consider 5 day rentals in peak season(request quote).
We found the place to be very good for our family. Quiet dead-end street . Great for my two grandkids. We liked the fact that there was a bedroom downstairs. It gave everyone there privacy. Rooms upstairs are roomie with high ceilings. Backyard was very pleasant to sit and have dinner . The place was clean and cozy.
This is what I consider the way Cape life is intended. We were greeted by the owners when we arrived as they had just finished setting things up for my family. They actually ran out to the store to re - supply some items and dropped them back off - we probably would never had missed it if they didn't. Great couple. The home sits at the end of a dead end street which was very quiet and provided a safe area for my 4 1/2 year old son to ride his bike. The neighbors are all extremely quiet and I only heard an occasional car. The location of the home is very convenient to Rte 28 and everything you will need but tucked away so you don't have to hear it! The backyard is beautiful and private giving comfortable space on the patio for dining and a late night game of cards. The size of the yard was perfect for bocce.
The home was very clean and well looked after, you can tell the owners have a great deal of pride in their home. We noticed many paintings by the owner hanging in most of the rooms giving it a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped and we did not want for anything. With multiple TV's (high quality TV's) throughout the house, my family could spread out if they wanted too.
All of the beds were very comfortable and the master bedroom upstairs is quite large and gave plenty of comfort. There is a nice desk overlooking the yard where I set up my laptop so I could check in with work from time to time and not bother anyone else.
All in all we were very happy with our stay and we highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great Cape Cod getaway.
This house is very well maintained in a quiet neighborhood and a short walk to Great Pond. We enjoyed our stay and thank the owners.
The photos and information provided on the listing for this beach house were completely accurate. It was a lovely cape house. The house was very clean when we arrived. The owners are extremely nice and easy to communicate with. This was our first stay in the Falmouth area, so we were not too familiar with the area beaches. The Great Pond area down the street seemed good for kayaks or canoes or boats, but is not a "beach" that one could go to for swimming or playing, at least during our stay. We did enjoy Old Silver beach and Surf Drive beach, which are both a short drive away. We got a beach pass for the Falmouth beaches for $60 for the week, which I would recommend if you are going to go to Falmouth beaches 3 or more times during your stay. We had a 3 1/2 year old and 8 month old with us, so these beaches were great for them to swim because of the calmer and warmer waters.
Overall, the house is great! It was helpful to have the bath towels, sheets, paper productions and all basic household supplies provided. I would definitely recommend this house if you are thinking about staying in Falmouth! Also, we had great food at C. Salt, Jack In The Beanstalk and Clam Man - all in Falmouth. Downtown Falmouth is also great to walk around, lots of shops, food, merry-go-round, playground and live music!
The house was very clean upon our arrival, stocked with everything we needed. We loved the keyless lock - one less think to keep track of while vacationing with 3 kids! There was enough space for our family (including my husband, 3 kids including a toddler, and my MIL). The lack of AC downstairs was uncomfortable for my MIL and the window fan was not enough on the hot nights. We walked to a small beach nearby, but preferred to drive to a public beach which was less than a 10 min drive away.
Overall we had very good experience at the house; the owners are super responsive and the house was left in meticulously clean condition prior to our arrival. they are honest people who promptly returned our deposit once they looked at the house upon our departure. the only aspect of the house that was surprising is there is no AC on the first floor, which made cooking indoors on humid and hot nights tough. it was easy for us to get sticker for the nearby beaches and we really enjoyed woodneck and bristol beaches. The area around the house is safe and quite. There are many playgrounds for kids less than 3 miles away.
We are located less than 5 miles from parking area(s) along the Shining Sea Bike Path. This 12 mile paved path is an easy ride form North Falmouth to Woods Hole through forests, cranberry bogs, tidal inlets, and along the beach. Bike rentals are readily available. Falmouth has 10 separate beaches on the ocean. These beaches are among the nicest in the Upper Cape Cod region. The Bay and Sound waters are wonderful for families - warmer than the Atlantic Ocean (many, many degrees warmer!), and normally quite calm. All of the beaches require a daily parking fee or a permit. A permit allows parking at all Falmouth beaches.
