About Pete & Lou
Lou & Pete moved to Wales from Bath ten years ago. We're fond of meeting new people and offer a warm welcome to all our visitors.
Why Pete & Lou chose Monmouth
Cae Dee is a rural idyll surrounded by woodland with riverside frontage. The changing seasons are reflected in the foliage of the trees and many wild flowers. Our house is large enough to offer an attractive wing of the property to visitors who can relax in privacy. Great local pubs are within walking distance for food and drinks.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
An area of outstanding natural beauty, easily reached by car and close enough to lots of attractions whilst retaining its woodland seclusion.

Wonderful hideaway in the woods!
Great location in a secluded area with wonderful views. Pete and Lou are fantastic hosts, engaging and warmhearted.
Breakfast on the verandah is a real treat watching the birds and wildlife while Pete rustles up a proper plateful of lovely grub!
We had a really relaxing getaway and will definitely be going back again.
Thank you Pete and Lou.
It was really good to meet Bill & Jane. They're very relaxed and appreciative guests and a pleasure to host. Bill had some very interesting historical insights which we thoroughly enjoyed hearing. If they can find time to come again, they are always welcome!
Beautiful retreat, far removed from everyday life
This is a true hideaway from the hustle & bustle of everyday life, hidden among the woodlands with a maze of walks from the doorstep & handy info on all the local pubs & shops.
Our hosts were amazingly welcome and made us feel completely at home as soon as we arrived till the moment we departed.
The accommodation is charming, original features throughout with lovely decor added all around. The nursery (which we didn't use) was fantastic.
The directions to find this retreat are spot on. Oh, and the breakfasts were really tasty !! Will definitely be back !
Lovely to meet Bryn & Star on their recent visit. They're good fun and lively, friendly people. Hope we might see them again sometime.
A humble abode.
We are sure that once tried you’ll return! Warm, friendly couple who couldn’t be more welcoming. The rooms were spotless and cosy warm, with lovely views and nature to spy upon. A must for every season.
Breakfast food variety was very good and we were able to choose from time options that suited us to eat. A great location and can recommend to all who enjoy long/short walks or time to relax and gather your thoughts with just wander to the pubs and watch the world go by.
Lovely to meet Amanda & Mark, really nice people. They'd come up from S. Wales having chosen to visit the house as a base for a day's walking. We wish them well and look forward to maybe seeing them again sometime. Pete & Lou

We came for a wedding nearby and needed a place to stay over the weekend celebration. It was much more than that. A lovely house inside and out, beautiful garden and nature all around. Very friendly and open hosts. They made us feel welcome and at home. Very comfortable beds. We slept very well. House lovingly and tastefully furnished.

Larry & Stephanie brought daughter Leanne and grandaughter Grace for a weekend visit bringing lovely weather and lots of fun & laughter. They're a very nice family and a pleasure to host.
The River Wye is famous for fishing and canoeing. We're also a short drive to the Brecon Beacons with climbing, caving and walking activities. Lots of woodland walks straight out of our property.
