Calabasas Hills family home available for your next Southern California vacation. In the neighborhood made famous by the Kardashians and Biggest Loser TV shows as well as celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Beau Bridges and Justin Bieber. Why do hot, young, rich and famous people live in Calabasas and neighboring Hidden Hills? Here's how former Hidden Hills mayor (and producer/entertainment lawyer), David Stanley describes the appeal: "We have no sidewalks or street lights. People are out walking, the kids gather at the community center to swim and BBQ, and once a year we put on a parade to celebrate the founding of our city -- marching bands and all."

Our home is available again after a log-term tenant vacated the property in 2015. We have updated the furnishings, landscaped the front and back yards, remodeled both baths and the kitchen and purchased new "heavenly" beds & linens.

About Marla Greenman

We are a professional couple that raised our now-adult children in this home and have lived in two cities for the past six years. We travel to and from LA frequently and thus we use the vacation rental opportunity to minimize the cost of maintaining two residences.

Why Marla Greenman chose Malibu Canyon

Comfort and location are the key reasons. We live in our rental properties when they are not rented. Therefore they are furnished for maximum comfort and practical use. There are good kitchen supplies, heavenly bedding and flat-screen TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime and other local offerings. Our home in Calabasas is on an elevated street with a lovely view of the surrounding green hills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Wonderful hiking trails surround us and we are less than 10 miles to the beautiful beaches of Malibu. We are also a short drive away from first class dining and shopping as well as several large cinemas including one that offers full-service dining during your show!

What makes this house unique

The home is less than a mile from a major highway, making it easy to get everywhere within LA County. Yet it is located in a quiet suburb of family homes and city parks without the crowds and inconveniences of the big city. The home is furnished for our comfort as we use it when not rented and priced to be much less expensive than claustrophobic hotel rooms, especially when there are multiple couples or a family traveling together. The kitchen and bathrooms were all remodeled within the past 18 months and the home furnishings were recently updated.

Street and driveway parking for two vehicles are always available. A lovely yard was newly landscaped and a barbecue and elevated view of the Santa Monica Mountains are highlights that you will surely enjoy. In addition the interior is completely pet friendly including a doggie door to the enclosed yard suitable for your small pet.

  • The master bedroom faces a lovely street front view without traffic noise because we are on a quiet cul-de-sac. It has its own remodeled en suite bath, flat screen TV, heavenly bedding and lots of pillows. You won't want to get up in the morning! Two additional bedrooms share a second bathroom in the hall close by. There is also a fourth bedroom that has been converted to an office which you are welcome to use if you must work!

1 mile from a major LA highway that gets you everywhere including Hollywood to the East, Ventura/Santa Barbara to the Northwest and Malibu just over the canyon (10 miles). Many beautiful hikes through the Santa Monica mountains all around the area. Old town Calabasas is both charming and well appointed for gourmet and casual dining, movies, shopping and entertainment. The famed Sagebrush Cantina is 3 miles from our home. This location is perfect for enjoying all that Southern California has to offer. Since you are so freeway close you can get almost anywhere in 30-45 minutes or less. At the same time, the quiet suburban area of Calabasas provides an away-from-it-all vibe and is not as congested as many LA neighborhoods have become.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough! My family and I had a wonderful time! Plenty of room for the five of us and my daughter’s service dog. Five stars all the way!

Excellent House

We really enjoyed our stay in the house. Our son is studying at Pepperdine and we were helping him to equip his apartment nearby. We had a lot of children with us and the house was perfectly suited for a large family. The beds were new and very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and the backyard was beatiful. In addition, there were multiple interesting pictures on the walls documenting the history of owner's family. I found those documents intriguing and they helped us to feel welcome there. Thanks a lot for our wonderful experience and memorable vacation.

Perfect Home Base for Multi-Family Gathering

This home was the perfect home base for 6 of my family members to gather while we were in CA for a family wedding. The wedding was in Malibu and we had other family in Topenga. The home was perfectly situated between the two. It was a fairly inexpensive Uber ride to the wedding festivities. We took advantage of the kitchen cooking facilities as well as the backyard grill. We enjoyed the back porch area where we spent mornings and evenings hanging out together taking in the lovely CA weather. The sleeping accommodations were very comfortable. It would have slept 2 additional people if needed. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a comfortable place to stay in the Calabasas area.

When we started this we were not sure who wanted to come to our area which is mainly a neighborhood of family homes close to a freeway... But it seems your use is exactly why it rents often. There is generally a family event nearby (we have many close event venues) and there is extended family attending that wants to have some shared space to catch up with each other. It really is a great use for this home which is now much larger than the two of us need for ourselves. Curious to know what we might do to make this a 5-star review...if it's doable, we'd like to make it happen! Come again any time!

Felt like home

Just spent a wonderful 5 days at this location when we came to Malibu for our daughter's Pepperdine graduation. It worked out beautifully for the 5 of us! Loved the quiet neighborhood and excellent location. A trundle bed was put in the office for us so that everyone had their own room. Will definitely be back!

In a suburb of Los Angeles, Calabasas is serene and beautiful yet close enough to Los Angeles to have every convenience. Fine dining and shopping are within a few miles. Malibu beaches and Pepperdine University are a quick 10-minute drive over the canyon. Yet the immediate area is full of beautiful hikes and scenic drives away from the big city crowds and hustle. Our home has a lovely yard and still it is close enough to the freeway to be a reasonable drive to all that Los Angeles has to offer. Most sites are within 30 minutes (Hollywood, Malibu, Santa Monica) and many others are less than 1 hour away (Disney parks, Downtown LA, Ventura, Santa Barbara).
