About the property

A lovely apartment in Tas-Sellum Residence in Mellieha Bay, Mellieha.

The apartment is located in the Phase One Residence Complex closest to the sea and enjoys the largest communal swimming pool restricted to the Phase One Residents. This tranquil, commanding position within the Mellieha Commune. It is complimented by outstanding features which include superb views of Mellieha Bay, low density development, sensitive landscaping, totally car free zone (all vehicle circulation is underground), individual large lock up garage also included in the price, easy access to the foreshore and proximity to sandy beaches.

The construction was completed in 2007. It was built as a personal retirement home and as such includes a lot of extra comfort features or quality of floor and bathrooms tiles, heated towel rails, that were not included in the Developers Original Package. In short it is built for luxurious comfort, children safety and security. The complex is manned and is securely gated and only residents and visitors with a remote control or a passcode can enter the complex.

One can access the apartment direct from the garage/or ground floor via the conveniently located elevator, which allows for unloading of shopping items as well as providing easy access for persons with limited mobility.

The apartment is licensed with the Malta Tourist Authority and is licensed for luxury holiday lets, is fully air-conditioned with individual remote controls for each room.

The apartment is very spacious 240sq. m. including the terraces with approx 200 sq.m available for the guests.

The spacious master bedroom is furnished with a super-king sized bed L190 x W180 x H25, two bedside tables, a single bed 190 x 90 (all in cm) wide, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a fully dressed baby cot if required. The master bedroom comes with an ensuite shower,/toilet. A window provides light and fresh air and is fitted with both pull down blinds and a curtain for added privacy but still letting the daylight in. We also have a baby cot for families with babies and can be conveniently set up close to the double bed and is fully equipped with mattress and bed linen.

The second bedroom comfortably sleeps two persons having two separate single beds L200 x W100 (cm) each. Due to guest request we have pushed the beds side by side as is show in the photos. It is also equipped with a bedside table, table light, large wardrobe, and a large desk top with monitor.

Bed linen, cot linen, duvets, pillows, pillow-cases, beach towels, bath towels, hand towels, hand soaps and other toiletries plus a hair drier are also provided. Mosquito plug-in repellants/tablets, electrical adapters.

Top of the line fully equipped kitchen includes dishwater, fridge freezer, microwave, oven, induction cook top and other kitchen top utensils such as toaster, coffee maker and electric kettle.

A combined dining and living area with access to via two large sliding doors to two separate terraces, the front overlooks the pool and across Mellieha Bay and provides a magnificent view of L-Ahrax promontory and the open sea. My wife and I enjoy having breakfast on this terrace and watch the beautiful colour reflections of the L-Ahrax rocks at sunrise. Both terraces benefit from direct sunlight at different times starting from sunrise and continues in late afternoon on the side terrace. Outdoor furniture different sized tables complete with chairs are provided and can be set up on either sun terraces. Two toddler’s high chairs are also provided.

In the dining area there is also a large 8 seater dining table.

The living area is equipped with a large 3 seater sofa which also opens and turns into a double sofa bed. Other lounge furniture include a comfortable leather armchair and a double seater leather sofa.

A separate laundry room includes a washing machine and a tumble drier plus two water heaters, two clothes airier, an iron and an ironing board.

Miscellaneous, a mobile foldable bed, deckchairs, 2 emergency heaters Safety items (fire blanket, fire extinguisher etc). Manned gated complex during day time. Security guarded during night time (summer months).

This property also offers High Speed FREE WIFI and a telephone is also available for local landline phone calls only.

Upon your arrival you will be hosted by Charlene our charming property manager who will meet you outside the apartment at a pre-advised set time. She will show you around the property and will give you access to the complex and the apartment via remote control if you have a rented vehicle and/or passcode/door key which she will supply you with. Should you require any taxi transfers from/to Malta International Airport our property manager Charlene will be pleased to assist and organise transportation to accommodate all members in your group.

A one off welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, water, fresh milk, orange juice, cereal, some bread rolls, butter and jam, will be provided gratis upon your arrival.

Public service transport is ideal and affordable in Malta though the summer months may be rather hectic, busy and very hot. Bus stops in both directions are stationed about 8 minutes short walk away from the apartment.

Welcome into the charming community of the residence itself, as well as the charming village of Mellieha.

As a European Destination of Excellence, Mellieha has been recognised as one of the most enticing parts of Malta. Located in the picturesque north, with its stunning sea views and open countryside, the town is known for its top restaurants and attractions. The area boasts some of the most popular beaches in Malta, and provides plenty of scope for those who want to make the most of the island’s incredible climate by swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling or water sport. We love the water and enjoy taking a morning swim in the pool and in the afternoon we either walk over to the sandy beach or rocky beach to swim and snorkel. We have spent many a wonderful holiday with our kids and grand children and now as we are retired in France. However, to retain the flexibility of being able to return on a regular basis but not leave the apartment empty while we are in France.

What makes this apartment unique

Tas-Sellum il-Mellieha is a quiet place, good facilities, 10 minutes walk to Malta's largest sandy beach Ghadira Bay and one can have gorgeous walks in the countryside especially during Autumn and Spring.

The apartment is very spacious and includes all the furniture and equipment you need for a perfect holiday. The apartment complex is also very nice and quiet just 10/15 minutes to walk from the large sandy beach in Mellieha Bay. If you just want to go for a swim there are many nice cliffs just below the complex. Only a minute or two to walk from the entrance. If you want a relaxing holiday without much noise, this is the perfect place for you. Mellieha Bay is a small village, with only a few hotels and restaurants. Some of them where quite ok. But the large sandy beach is of course one of Maltas finest. Mellieha village has more restaurants, but for shopping take the bus to Sliema. Mellieha village has a large and very good supermarket (Valyou), which is only a few bus stops from the apartment (and the bus stops right outside the supermarket). It is also a small supermarket (Luna) about 500 meters away from the apartment, that sells most of what you need. Recommend boat trips to Comino (blue lagoon) which departs from Mellieha Bay (500/600 meters from the apartment). Charlene and the owner Joe, was the most perfect hosts. They responded very fast to all the questions we might have. Apartment was clean, everything in place, and arrival/departure from the apartment went without any issues. Would definitely recommend both the apartment and the hosts. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!!!!!

  • The bathroom suites are truly luxurious and not a penny has been spared. Both bathrooms are supplied with modern state of the art water heaters/coolers.

The premises is maintained and staffed from Monday to Friday from 7am - 3pm. It is enclosed within 4 gates. Security staff on work shifts during the nights throughout the summer months. The swimming pool is treated daily very early in the morning hours. Communal gardening and cleaning staff on shift on alternate weeks.

A very nice and calm stay. Perfect flat.

We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed them all. Wonderful beds, good terraces - all three, and good local restaurants. The kitchen was with everything imaginable and clean.

We had a problem with a faucet and called Charleen and she came very fast and fixed it.

The trip to Malta and the stay at the apartment is definitely one of our best vacations.

Superb large 2 bedroom apartment with all you could possibly need in great location

Superb apartment that truly is a home from home, fully equipped modern good quality kitchen that was a pleasure to cook in.

Large living room with plenty of space to relax along with good balcony space with fantastic sea views.

Two good sized bedrooms with very comfortable beds.

Two well equipped modern shower rooms (one with bath too)

Also has a well equipped utility room with washer and dryer.

Apartment is in a very well kept modern complex with a pool (bit too cold to use when we were there in April but good sized and very clean). Great coastal location not too far from Mellieha beach. Definitely easier having a hire car to get about and explore the island and there is use of a private garage included with the apartment to store it.

Everything in the apartment had a good quality feel about it and was was all spotlessly clean.

We had a great family holiday here (2 adults, 2 kids) and would definitely come back and stay at this apartment again. Perfect base for quiet family holiday to explore Malta and Gozo from!

A Memorable Vacation

We just left Malta this morning. I do not want to wait any longer to say that we had such a great time. The apartment is luxurious, the beds are supremely comfortable and I particularly liked the top of the line kitchen where I was able to cook gourmet meals to celebrate the Xmas week with my family. The island is a place of great beauty, every day was a discovery ! Many thanks to you Charlene ... you are the best!

Fabulous!!!!!

We had a wonderful week here, The apartment had everything you need and more for a self catering holiday. Very clean and beautifully furnished, with a view from the pool and apartments to die for.

If I were to be very picky the mattress in the master bed room is very firm, it did wonders for my husbands back but it did affect our sleep. I have still given a 5 star as this is a matter of preference not a problem with the apartment.

Just a few must-dos whilst in Mellieha, Malta. You are only 300mtrs from Mellieha bay's sandy beach, then the Red Tower, Popeye Village, 10minutes to Golden Sands and the Cirkewwa Ferry which sails you to Malta's sister island Gozo and the cute boat trips which sail you to Comino islands where you will definitely visit Santa Maria Bay and the unique crystal blue water of the Blue Lagoon. You must make time to visit Valletta, our capital city with it's historic Grand Harbour, Valletta Waterfront, it's heritage museums and the grand St. John's Cathedral. You should not miss a visit to Mdina, the silent city which is a must-go-to. Also a trip to Sliema's seafront promenade with all it's cute boutiques and shopping malls. So much to do and so little time. Malta offers a world of new adventures to any holiday maker seeking beauty, heritage and a laid back relaxed atmosphere.
