About the property

Set in a quiet residential street, this gorgeous, 1 bedroom, second floor, luxury, artist owned apartment is within the ancient walls of York city, which are only 3 miles in circumference so you are right in the centre. It is also just minutes walk from the town centre and the famous "Bishy road". A warm welcome, and breakfast included for the first morning.

Parking is available on the street outside at an additional cost.

It is a very quiet residential area and yet just at the end of bishy road with all it's delis and restaurants. In the other direction you are only 5 minutes walk to the centre of shopping, restaurants, and the minster. There is a lovely retro cinema just a few minutes walk away also, and on the corner of the street, a traditional English pub where all the cool locals gather.

I am a local artist and my art hangs on the walls. It is also an ancient unique gorgeous building.

I meet my guests upon arrival, and tell them about the local area, and I am there at the end if the phone if they need me.

There is no need for transport as you are within walking distance to everything. However there is free parking outside the apartment. The train station is less than 10 minutes walk away or a 2 minute taxi ride.

Leave the car at home, catch the train and enjoy all that york has to offer right on your doorstep. Parking is sometimes available

Our stay with Mary was terrific. We could not have asked for anything better.

We arrived at AMS after and all-night flight from the U.S. Mary had given us perfect instructions to her house and we found it easily. Left our luggage with her while we explored. Perfect.

Our room was great. Better yet were Mary's breakfasts. Best of all was Mary, who was cheerful, friendly, informative and a very interesting conversationalist.

We had a great time.

For anyone want to go to the museums or to walk in Vondelpark this is a perfect location.

We highly recommend it.
