About Mary Rae Cawood

We built this cabin over a 2 yr period and finished it in 2014. We are avid horse lovers and trail riders. We use this cabin as well when it is not being rented out.

Why Mary Rae Cawood chose Oneida

Our family has always loved the area and the BSF National Forest is a hidden gem of East Tennessee.

What makes this cabin unique

It is a great location to a main trail head on the Oneida side of the National Forest.

Great location with a great price

Spent the weekend at this cabin and enjoyed everything about it. Quiet, secluded, and has a home like feel. Would definitely go back.

It was nice to have a home to come back to after a day of hiking.

  • 5 of 5

We had just about everything that we needed in the cabin. We hiked every day we were there and enjoyed coming back to the cabin instead of a hotel. My daughter enjoyed having her own bathroom in the loft. It was nice to be able to do some laundry while we were there so I didn't have to do it when I got home. Would recommend to others.

Great weekend get-away

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was in a great location. The was lots of room and the cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to cook meals. Even had a washer and dryer. We would rent this cabin again for another visit to Big South Fork.

Peaceful place!

  • 4 of 5

My family of three stayed a week just before Christmas. The home was great! Quiet, peaceful, cozy and tastefully decorated for Christmas. Toy chest in the loft, dvd's and a checker table. Close to town yet far enough to get the perfect mountain cabin feel. Tons of trails in the area. The living room tv has been updated, larger than the picture. The kitchen pots/pans need replacing due to severe wear and tear. There were only two pans I could use. We didnt have any problems with the neighbors dogs. Overall, really lovely place and we had a fantastic time.

Owner's Response: Thanks for letting me know about the pots and pans. I recently bought another new set for the cabin.
