Le Cheyron is set in 2 acres of grounds and is perfect for a peaceful but interesting holiday. The house has been modernised but still retains its french country cottage feel. It has a main sitting/dining area, a kitchen, shower room, toilet. It also has one downstairs bedroom with a double bed and two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed, the other with a single bed. The cottage faces south and has a lovely sun terrace across the front of the house. It is very well equipped and has all the implements you would expect. It is in a beautiful yet largely undiscovered part of France and is a secret we hope to keep for a few more years! The surrounding area is fairly hilly with lots of forests and lakes, many with their own beaches. there are lots of interesting places to visit and the local town of Chamberet is only 3km away and has all the facilities you need.A particular appeal are the evenings because there is a total lack of artificial light which makes star gazing spectacular! Le Cheyron is also an amazing centre for those interested in cycling and walking. Routes of all kinds can be provided.

About Ian McNamara
We have owned Le Cheyron for 24 years and have enjoyed many family holidays and time with friends. We also count our French neighbours as friends. some have visited us in England. I grew up in the north-east of England and my wife spent her youth in and around the London area. We are both retired now and have lived in East Anglia for the last 34 years. Originally we lived near Southwold but now live about 16 miles south of Norwich
Ian McNamara purchased this Cottage in 1992
Why Ian McNamara chose Chamberet
We have a deep connection with this area. It is quiet, friendly and rural. Days are long with much warmth in summer and beautiful colours in autumn. Spring is a joyous time as plants and animals emerge from a long and often cold winter. Nights are memorable, whether beside the roaring fire or, in summer out on the terrace stargazing. This is really fantastic on a warm summer night with no artificial light to spoil the view!
What makes this Cottage unique
The surrounding countryside has a slow pace to it! You can feel in a time warp as the locals settle down for a long lunch. With the lack of cars and often people the occasional animal sound and the odd tractor you can be swept away into a peaceful, tranquil world.
