About the property

Nestled in a rural village near Truro, this very spacious 3 bedroomed property looks onto a quarry lake with an abundance of wild life. It is situated on the boundary of the village and is therefore quiet and secluded. The large garden extends into a wooded area populated with rabbits who frequently make appearances. The village has a pub (The Falmouth Arms) and local friendly store open 6 days a week which is just three minutes walk. Ladock is geographically well placed for the north and south coasts and serves as a handy central base to explore the County.

Filter House was built in 1954 by the South Cornwall Water Board as a utility building to pump water to the Roseland Peninsula. It was retired in the 1980’s and left to deteriorate. In 2005 permission was granted to give the property a new lease of life, the massive cast iron filters were removed and the property was transformed into an Art Deco house where attention to detail has been a high priority.

Beautiful property

Filter house is finished to a really high standard and is equipped with everything you need. There has been a lot of care taken with all the fixtures, fittings and furniture to create a beautiful modernist property. We had a fantastic relaxing holiday. Thank you Robert.

A fabulous house with amazing attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely long weekend in the Filter house - what a fabulous place. We woke up feeling we were in an Agatha Christie film. The weekend was particularly cold but the house was as warm as toast. Every comfort is provided and Robert goes the extra mile to ensure a wonderful stay. A visit in the summer I think may be planned

A wonderful well equipped house oozing with style

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful mini break at Filter House. Arrival was simple, and we were delighted with the facilities...everything you could think off was provided, and the interior of the house is stunning.. We kept expecting Hercule Poirot to turn up.

The location is great for visiting all the "must do" attractions, such as the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Trail, and the slightly longer trip to St Ives, to visit the the Tate Gallery is a must.

Robert, the owner , was extremely helpful, and though we had no problems, we felt confident he would get any issues sorted.

Overall a five star property, and highly recommend.

Special Gem

  • 5 of 5

The Filter House has been renovated to a very high standard and it's bit like staying in a Tardis as it just keeps going on and on. Everything you could want is there, even down to toiletries, and the welcome pack is exceptional. The location gives you easy access to both the South and North coasts of Cornwall, the village pub is a short walk away, it's dog friendly and very welcoming. Robert, the owner of the Filter House, has put together a list of dog friendly, good eating, pubs and restaurants within an 8 to10 minute drive of the property. The Plume off Feathers in Mitchel is excellent, the food is superb.

Robert is currently renovating the Pump House next door and we wish him well, you could not find a friendlier and more helpful host, cheers Robert.
