Located in the exclusive and coveted 16th district of Paris, this very bright and spacious 2 bedrooms apartment of 120m2 is ideal for a family or two couples who wish to keep their independence and privacy ( the second bedroom has its own bathroom).
The apartment has an entrance that gives you access to a large double living room of 37m2 with a dining room. A hallway provides access to the master bedroom, a shower room with hydro massage and steam bath and another toilet. Bedrooms overlook a quiet courtyard with large balconies, one with a double bed 160x200 , the other with a bed of 140x190 and a single bed 90x190 .
Close to Roland Garros and located right near to the Seine River, your rental is in front of the Parc André Citroën, ideal for a family moment in a modern and popular area.
The location is awesome.... a block away from the Seine. Good restaurants nearby and a grocery store within a short walk. Transit 2 blocks away.
The apartment itself is very nice... LARGE and comfortable. Free internet which was great. Nice TV but all the instructions (and the entire welcome/info book) were only in French and for Paris... i'd think there would be a need for other languages, like English? We were able to figure out the working of the TV by looking at the photos in the info book!
The bedrooms were very quiet and comfortable but the bedding itself was 'tired' and really does need replacing.
Was interesting that one bedroom had an ensuite of sink and shower but toilet down the hall and the other bedroom had a bathroom across the hall. HOWEVER, there was not a towel in the toilet room for the small sink. There was only 2 bath towels per bathroom (no hand towels) and when we arrived one of the towels (in each of the rooms) were wet.... when we asked for extra's the comment was "This is NOT a hotel, you know" and told to drape the towels over the balcony to dry out. There were no toiletries whatsoever and we had to buy soap for the showers.
There was one roll of toilet paper per bathroom (we had to go and buy more) and no paper towels in the kitchen. The dish towels in the kitchen did not look like they had been washed in months thus the need for paper towels.
The apartment was spacious and tastefully furnished. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. We were a group of 5 adults and we fit comfortably in the apartment. There is a bus stop right outside of the apartment and two metro stations within 5-8 minutes walk.
The managers (William and Emmanuel) met us in front of the building. We were running late due to the traffic and they were very accommodating. They showed us the apartment and gave us a quick run through on using the appliances. The check out process was easy too.
Some FYI. There is a grocery store is 3 minutes walk (close on Sunday) and a pharmacy across the street. The apartment include a washer and wi-fi connection. The kitchen is fully equipped. The elevator to the apartment can hold 4 adults without any luggage (read: very small). The owner also provides detailed instructions on how to operate everything in the apartment (if you read French).
If I am visiting Paris again, I will go back to this apartment.
The apartment worked out great for us. Size, location and well equipped. 5 minute walk to the metro. We are a family of 4, kids had their own bed and bath. William met us in front of the building right on time. He was available to answer questions when needed. Grocery, restaurants both close.
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. We chose it because it was a good size for 5 of us (we have 3 kids). There were two bathrooms which was very useful for having 3 girls (5, 11, and 13). They were able to share the second bedroom comfortably enough. The living space was nice and large for us to spend family time playing games. The kitchen was fairly well equipped and there was both a coffee pot and Nesoresso machine. The property manager met us right when we got to the apartment (we flew through Charles DeGaul and took the metro over). There is also a bus stop right in front of the apartment which goes to many popular places just as easy as the metro. Overall, very comfortable and large. And there was an elevator- the apartment is on the fourth floor.
The only things the property owners could improve on: it was summer and it was hot. Having a fan available at night would have been very nice for both bedrooms. They have large windows that open on to the courtyard but not much air flowed. Plus it is louder and bright late, so we had to close the window coverings to darken the room for our 5 yo. Also, as we were departing from our origin I was asked if we were bringing our own bath towels. Flying overseas with carry on luggage, we definitely weren't. I feel either there weren't linens taken care of for our stay or they didn't have enough. That was really strange to us. Perhaps the owner needs to invest in a few sets of linens if their apartment accommodates 5? We also had to buy ourselves kitchen towels. While the property manager solved the bath towel situation, borrowing from his mom was nice but maybe not the right solution? Also- the first night our full family was there I couldn't figure out why there were only 4 forks- turns out someone had run the dishwasher but never put everything away. It was a small inconvenience but would be a nice touch to have all things in order for your arrival. My mom runs a vacation rental so I know how difficult it is to take care of every small detail and I definitely appreciate the and work that goes in to it.
Other pluses: there was a bakery, grocery, pharmacy, park with playground and bus and metro lines all very close to walk to. The apartment was also provided with a hair dryer and a small washing machine (and a drying rack). I don't remember if those were listed in the ad, but they were handy things to have.
We would choose to stay there again.
