Rapolano Terme is a small Tuscan town in the district of the Crete Senesi, where the clay waves that characterize the area begin to soften and dissolve into dense woodlands as they slope down towards the hills of Chianti and the verdant valleys of the blooming Val di Chiana. Famous for its spa and avant-garde medical and beauty treatments, as well as for the production of the famous travertine marble, the common denominator of the local architecture of churches and town squares, Rapolano is located in a geographical position that allows guests to explore the nearby picturesque villages, rich in castles, churches and fortresses. Road links are excellent: the E78 highway, a short distance away, allows guests to reach A1 motorway in less than half an hour and to get quickly and easily to major cities such as Siena and Arezzo as well as to the famous and evocative towns in the vicinity like Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona and many more. From Rapolano, where guests can do their daily shopping, buses and trains leave for Siena and the larger railway station of Chiusi. Finally, golfers can practice their favourite sport at the 9-hole golf course in nearby Bettolle while, for those not wanting to miss out on a quality shopping spree, the Val di Chiana Outlet Village is a less than half an hour away.
The house has two floors. The entrance on the ground floor leads on the right to the kitchen, toilet and laundry and, on the left, to the dining room and from there to the sitting room with sofas and satellite TV. A staircase in the entrance hall leads up to the first floor consisting of a twin bedroom with joinable beds with en-suite bathroom with shower and two double bedrooms, one with bed 1,40 m wide, sharing a bathroom with tub. This floor is completed by a cosy sitting room.
The estate in which the house is situated covers an area of about 40 hectares, most of which are covered by woodland and, for a hectare and a half, by an olive grove. The park is completely fenced-in for about 1 hectare; here lawns alternate with paths and paved areas, everywhere flanked by colourful borders, medicinal plants, tall trees and fruit trees. The area of the hamlet belonging to the house has independent and direct access from the car park at the rear of the house, at the end of the inner, oleander-lined driveway and is bordered on one side by a shady pine wood set up as a children’s play area and on the other by a large well-kept garden. In this green area framed by olive trees, in front of the French window at the entrance and kitchen and protected by the cool shade of a majestic walnut tree, an outdoor dinning/living area has been set up, surrounded by hydrangeas, hibiscus and fragrant jasmine, the ideal spot for dining or just relaxing.
Perfectly integrated in the hamlet, the pool is situated in a private, fenced-off area of the property, a few metres from the house and accessible through a gate for the safety of children, surrounded by a dense forest vegetation and framed on one side by a wall adorned with a rich assortment of succulent plants and bushes of colourful flowers. It is lined in cream-coloured PVC with travertine border; large steps lead down into the water and it has a cold-water outdoor shower. It measures 7 x 15 m with the depth varying from 1.2 m to 2 m. It has salt purification. The sunbathing area, with Tuscan travertine paving, is dominated by a large oak tree creating natural coolness and is equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs, little table, and lighting, perfect for relaxing after a swim or sitting out during the evening. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
