Brand new 1BR, 1BA (600 sqft) apartment in a 107-year-old character home that has been immaculately redesigned and restored to blend original heritage character with contemporary comfort, style, and function. Clean, open, and bright, this unit feels inner-city chic, with all the action of the most diverse and culture rich neighbourhood in Vancouver, just steps outside your door.

The separate bedroom has a top quality, memory foam, Queen mattress and the large living room has a pull-out double sofa bed. The unit is well equipped with linens and towels for 4 people, plus the in-suite washer and dryer will keep your laundry supplies fresh.

Stylish finishings, 9 foot ceilings, large bright windows looking up to the drive, and your own beautifully landscaped patio garden to watch the passers by from, or catch our beautiful summer sunsets from. All in the heart of the bustling, lively, and eclectic Commercial Drive where the best coffee shops, excellent culinary offerings, shopping, arts, recreation, and live entertainment are abundant.

Transit buses are steps outside your door and the skytrain is a 10-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride away, accessing most of the cities top attractions within 20 minutes. The many bike routes will likely get you where you need to go within 20 minutes as well.

But, you don't have to go far if you don't want to because the apartment boasts the perfect location for just becoming a local and checking out the city's best coffee shops, boutique stores, street buskers, artists, and festivals, and some of the most diverse and quality range of dining options offered in Vancouver. Many restaurants and cafes double as intimate live entertainment venues in the evenings, in addition to the many cultural centres and theatres offering up excellent live performing art shows year round. Your hosts are very familiar with all that is offered on and off the drive and enjoy sharing our favourite spots with our guests.

Steps away from it all, yet the apartment is just far enough off 'the drive' that you can return home to a quiet place to just kick back on your patio, and you wouldn't know it was all around the corner.

Well proportioned kitchen with all the necessary conveniences to cook up a full family meal and a dishwasher for the mess. Separate dining area comfortably set up for 4.

Adjacent to the front entrance is the large private patio area for our guest use - perfect for sunsets.

Radiant in floor heating and many cozy features of the apartment make it just as inviting to curl up and relax inside with a book, or a movie.

Super high-speed internet, cable television, and Netflix are also available.

perfect place in the perfect location

The apartment was very clean with the best equipped kitchen! Everything was new and in great condition, wonderful shower, washer and dryer. It was perfect for two or for one with a lovely place to sit out front and watch the neighbourhood from. Just off of Commercial Drive that has anything you could possibly want from stores and restaurants. Communication was slow initially because the host was out of the country and that was a little stressful but that all got worked out once he was back. I hope this place is available for my next visit to Vancouver, I've stayed in a few places on the east side but this one was THE best!!

Great place to stay, with good location, and some things to be aware of

This renovated place is located in a great part of Vancouver, with so many options for food and night life within walking distance. The bed was a memory foam that was one of the most comfortable to sleep in I have encountered. The are only a few things that we encountered that might bother some people: 1) parking is very challenging (we did get permission from the owners to park there, since we drove up from Seattle with a rental car), but even with that, it was tricky. Best if you do not have a car. 2) There were some kids in the apt next door that were up until 11 pm making noise, and in August with the windows open, it could bother some people. 3) While the sofa does fold out into a sleeper, there is only a semi-transparent screen (light on one side will allow you to see through, see the picture I am uploading) between the bedroom and living room, so it would be awkward if you not comfortable with the lack for privacy between the two rooms. 4) It took a few emails to get our security deposit returned. 5) Coffee maker sounds really loud, so it WILL wake everyone else if you make coffee while others are sleeping. Over all, these issues were not a big problem for us, so I did not feel like taking a star off, but it might impact your choice.

Great accommodations!

In a beautifully restored house, the suite is large, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable for a stay of any length. All the appliances looked brand new, and included a great washer and dryer. The tub was perfect for soaking my old bones after a long day of exploring the neighbourhood.

The Drive is fun, with many restaurants, cool bars and independent shops. Great people watching! Walking along the surrounding streets, there are many beautiful homes, from restorations to modern designer new builds.

I met Kara briefly when I arrived, and she explained what I needed to know about the suite. Other than that, you are left with your privacy knowing that they were available if you needed anything.

I would definitely stay there again, next time I visit.

Great Location

Stayed at this location from Sept 16 - 30, 2015. This is a great location basically 1/2 block off Commercial Drive and a hop-skip-jump to downtown Vancouver. The suite is modern, well stocked with basic accessories and very clean. All your needs are within walking distance with lots of shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. Public transit runs on Commercial Drive and the Sky Train is within a reasonable walking distance. If you have a car you may want to make arrangements with the owner so you can park in front of the suite. We did not have that option however we were always able to find a spot no more than a block away as parking on the street is by permit only. We highly recommend this place and will certainly stay there again next time.
