Andrea and Ralph Winterhalter live in Cincinnati Ohio but have been visiting Indian Rocks Beach since 1973.
Andrea Winterhalter purchased this condo in 2014
We have been staying in Indian Rocks Beach since 1973 and love the beautiful beach and the great town located within walking distance.
We have such a wonderful view of the beach and Gulf of Mexico from our balcony but also from the entire first floor of the condo. The beach is quiet and always a wonderful breeze. We are also walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
We were satisfied with our condo and everything in it. It's situated on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building with a small unit above and below. We rarely heard our neighbors within the condo, but often heard (or smelled - cigarette smoking!) them from the balcony. We fit comfortably (2 adults, 3 kids) and often had family come hang out for playing games or a meal. That said, my brother rented basically the same condo down at the end of the building and for the same price, had much nicer furniture, dishes, towels and overall more updated condo. If we were to come back - WE WOULD ASK FOR THAT UNIT! The beach itself is on the quieter side, compared to Clearwater or St. Petersburg beaches, but certainly not empty. The pool is very well-kept, warm and roomy. They are sticklers about rules, so kids will get yelled at...no balls, no running, no rowdiness. Just 20 feet out to the gorgeous beach where you can do all that nonsense. Nice little showers for rinsing off your feet/ saltwater after you've been in the gulf.
PROS: very comfortable beds, brand new gas grills outside by the pool, newer decor in spacious living room, normal sized fridge/ oven/ stove/ micro, some beach toys and beach chairs stashed in the closets, TV in every room, large stash of hand soap/ dish soap/ garbage bags, lovely pool, terrific beach with quick access, cheap laundry facilities near the pool, small fans, hair dryer found in closets, unit was clean
CONS: dark kitchen filled with old/ flea market quality dishes, silverware, pots, No Beach Towels, ok quality mismatched bath towels that we had to use at the beach/ pool because we were told there were beach towels, all curtains missing with big holes left in the walls, lamps/decor/ cupboards missing or shifted to other areas, extra chairs crowding dining room and balcony (plastic chair broken out there), dining room table very wobbly. While we were there - very slow drain in upstairs sink, downstairs toilet barely flushed, pipe popped open under kitchen sink (management came next morning to fix), light bulbs out, thermostat blinking 'battery low', both TV remotes broken/ partially functioning - none of these are deal breakers for us, but it's obvious this is a rental and just cared for at a minimum. There are almost no hooks or drying racks and we were told not to hang towels on the balcony railing - when we suggested a drying rack would be helpful, they brought one right away.
We had a really good time renting that condo at Indian Rocks for our family vacations. The condo is very well located on a very quite part of the beach. With a very nice view on the beach from the balcony. This condo is part of a medium size condo building complex which makes the pool and beach area quite and not crowded at all. The unit #208 we rented was clean and was fully equipped. Compared to other units we visited, the #208 may need a little refreshment but still a very good deal for the price. The common washing/drying machines (3 of each) were very efficient as they are commercial models and looked brand new. Would definitely consider looking for the availability of this condo the next time we plan to come back in Indian Rocks Beach.
It was a wonderful stay , comfortable with a gorgeous view . Very convenient area. Lots of great restaurants and ice cream stores within walking distance. Convenient to clearwater attractions .Small place so we could leave our stuff at the pool while we went up for lunch. We will definitely be back!
Just got back from this condo late last night. The condo is just as pictured. It was neat, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed to be comfortable inside and out. We spent many enjoyable moments on the balcony. The beach is beautiful and private. The pool was kept very clean. Being able to sit on the beach or at the pool without big crowds was very relaxing. We even watched a wedding from our balcony. We used the trolley several times. Just $4.00 for an all day pass! There is so much to do up and down Gulf Boulevard. There are so many places to eat and shop. We loved John's Pass, Crabby Bill's and JD's. I received messages from the owner to inquire if we had gotten settled in and if we needed anything. I thought this was very nice. We highly recommend a stay at this condo if you are looking for a beautiful but not so crowded beach. We hope to stay again sometime in the near future. Thanks for sharing your little piece of Paradise with us!
We spent a wonderful week at Andrea's place! This was our second time in the unit and we have already booked for next year! The unit is clean and comfortable and provides everything you need! The views from the balcony were perfect, as well as from the master bedroom. The area is less crowded than other areas on the gulf and it was so nice to have a beach and pool area that were not over flowing with people. Thank you for sharing your place with us!!
We love this condo. It is clean, pretty and the location is perfect. It has everything you need and more. Upon entry it opens to a complete wall of glass that opens to the Gulf of Mexico! Kitchen, dining and living area overlooks the Gulf with a great balcony. But also, the entry door and 2nd bedroom faces the intracoastal waterway. You can watch sail boats and yachts of all kinds pass through here. Master bedroom overlooks the Gulf with 2 huge windows. Just steps away from the beautiful clean pool and gorgeous white beach. It is perfect! Thanks for making it available to us!
