About Ann & Glenn Goldthwait

We moved to Sheridan in 2006 because of it's fantastic weather, location, recreational opportunities, serenity and colorful[gold] history! We lived up in the northwest part of the state for over 30 years and found that this area is more of the "old west" that we are drawn to... Wide open valleys surrounded by snow capped peaks, teaming with wildlife and some of the best fishing, hiking and recreating in the world!

Ann & Glenn Goldthwait purchased this chateau / country house in 2014

Why Ann & Glenn Goldthwait chose Montana

After selling a property up north, that we also rented, we decided to purchase this beautiful brick home when we fell in love with it the first time we saw it! We wanted to preserve this historical home and bring it back to the original condition it once was in. It did turn out to be quite a project, as it now has virtually all new wiring, plumbing, paint, an added bathroom, refinished floors, new stove, refrigerator and cabinets. It was well worth the effort, as it is a very special and charming place and will soon be on the National Historic Registry!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Plenty of room for one or up to ten people! Convenient to town, quiet location and in the heart of the beautiful Ruby Valley!! Great home base for all the amazing recreational opportunities available!

Beautifully remodeled home

  • 5 of 5

My family rented out the home the week of my wedding this summer. Ann was a pleasure to work with. She was so easy going and accommodating. The home is beautifully restored, clean and well stocked with everything they needed.

The back yard was great to hang out in and relax.

The home is conveniently located a block from downtown Sheridan and a short drive to hunting and hiking accesses.

We highly recommend Ann and this wonderful home!

Fully remodeled old house. While the house was built well over one hundred years ago, it has all the modern conveniences of today, including a second bathroom which is key when travelling with extended family. The beds are comfy and the bedrooms large with beautiful antiques. The kitchen is stocked with the necessary pots pans and dishes. And although we didn't use it, the yard is very large with a barbeque and sitting area. In a very quiet little town with lots of outdoor adventures in the area. The only thing that might be a problem for some people is the stairs, being an old house they aren't the wide stairs that one might desire. They are the old narrow spiral type that were built in these old houses. They are part of the homes character. Three of the bedrooms are up these stairs, but there is also one bedroom downstairs.

Beautiful house that provided some much needed relaxation after some very stressful days. Ann and Glenn made sure we had everything we needed for our stay (even homemade banana bread). Very clean and tons of space. Highly recommend

Great Home! Very Updated!

  • 5 of 5

My family and my sister's family stayed for almost a week, 4 adults and 4 kids with plenty of room. Everything was very clean and updated including the bathrooms. The house has a great feel and it is fully restored back to 1896. This place has everything you need while vacationing in Montana. Plenty to do in the area around Sheridan, including only a 1:45 to West Yellowstone. The owners of the house were very accommodating and really did a nice job with restoring this house. We would definitely stay again.
