This fully furnished Studio apartment is located in the heart of downtown Lafayette. It is an upstairs studio hidden nicely behind a duplex apartment. Walking out of the apartment, you are in viewing distance of the very popular Parc San Souci, host to various live music events and festivals throughout the year.
This home is also on one of the most popular Mardi Gras parade routes, as you will quickly notice with the remnants of Mardi Gras beads from several past parades hanging in nearby trees. There is a garage downstairs so there are no downstairs neighbors, however, the duplex in the front is occupied.
This studio is approximately 400 square feet of living area. Full kitchen and private bathroom as seen in the pictures. There is a futon which sleeps 2 comfortably. An air mattress could be added to this Studio, if needed, for extra guests.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies and condiments.
High-speed fiber optic wireless internet (WiFi) is included. This apartment does not have a designated parking spot. However, parking is available on the street or across the street in nearby lots. In high traffic times such as Mardi Gras and Festival International, there may be attendant on duty charging to park in the Don's Seafood Restaurant parking lot.
Nice layout of property. It was close to restaurants, shopping and churches. I think the property is new and not completed yet. Bathroom needs hooks for wet towels and clothing, much better lighting and stocking of bathroom supplies. Housekeeping needs to improve. I would like to stay there again if and when improvements are made.
My daughter and I pulled up to the address and cringing, hoped that we had it wrong. The "apartment" is behind a house that is literally sinking into the ground. Paint is peeling, the Windows look like they are about to come off of the rails, disgusting. We tried to stay open minded and walked down the pitch black, creepy drive-way to the room we had rented. There was a dish rack strewn in the yard, huge weeds all over. When we reached the garage it was unlocked, garbage spilling out, we felt like we were in a horror movie! Holding our phone flashlights for light we dug the key put of the mailbox and opened the door to a powerful moldy, mildew smell. Again- there was no obvious light when we opened the door, when we did find it we entered into a dingy, stained stairwell that lead to the upstairs. When we got to the apartment we were again disappointed. The bed was bowed, drastically curved inwards, there is no way that we both could have slept on it. The window air conditioning unit was stuffed with clothes and had black mold and leaking. There were stains on the walls, the bathroom and kitchen sinks were both streaked and stained with rust and smelled horrible. I looked at the ceiling and it was covered in dust bunnies.
We didn't stay the night. Our allergies were affected by the unclean environment and we did not feel safe in the space. I can't understand how this qualifies as a listing on HomeAway. I've never had a bad experience at a stay from a HomeAway property before so it threw my entire opinion of using the site in the future.
Perfect spot for seeing downtown lafayette! Juliette was extremely helpful when I was trying to find the location. Room was clean.
